So my 2014 Ram 2500 Hemi 6.4 got filled with diesel. Hasn't been run, but I need to drain tank.

Was hoping to find fuel line in engine bay so I could jump the 12v power to fuel pump and just have it pump itself out. Did this on a old car.

But I can't seem to see where the fuel comes in .

Or if anyone has a better idea. Can't get it towed to shop from where it's at, I need to drain it and get filled with gas.

Just siphon it out then fill it to the top with gas. The slight amount if diesel will be diluted.

You can get a drill powered pump for cheap.

Yep. Get as much out of tank. Fill with gas. Might sputter if any is in system. But it won’t hurt it. I thought the diesel nossle wouldn’t fit into a gas hole. Maybe I’m off I guess. Sure would be nice if gas and diesel had their own size nozzles and stop those mixups from happening

Yeah the diesel is bigger in Kansas and surrounding states.... I assume he got his from a tank somewhere. Not many gas stations tow trucks can get to.

Well I got the tank fully drained. They had put about 18 gallons of diesel in, but I guess it was started for a minute . There's a diesel in bed tank used for farm equipment.

I disconnected fuel rail and cycled key until it was out of fuel by filling 5 gallon buckets with a hose attached to fuel line. Got the tank dry. Added 5 gallons of gas and some injector cleaner. Truck is turning, but won't fire.

Assuming I need spark plugs or something too? There's no check engine codes coming up, and it sounds fine while spinning .

What a freaking day.

Unfortunately the new dodges have a anti-siphon valve in the filler neck, so can't get a hose down it.

cycle the key like 5-10 times before you try and crank it, maybe fire a little ether down the air inlet and see if it will fire.

Don't worry if you see white smoke for a few miles.. it's the diesel burning off.

Try starting fluid, may take a few sprays to keep running.

The car diesel nozzle is different than the ones for 18 wheelers. The nozzle for 18 wheelers is larger because the pumps are a higher pressure/flow rate.

I don't even look at that stuff lol. In Texas where I was at it was wayyyy more than normal gas. Maybe I need to look around here now that I’m in AZ

One of the stations down the street sells race fuel, and that **** is rediculously expensive, usually a line of go fast boats lined up at it.. “ $ 400 for a hour or so of high speed runs - Priceless” lol

It will be a biach to start. My wife filled our old Dodge Dart with diesel, back in the day before all the different fuel nozzles. She got about a half mile from the gas station before all hell broke loose. Soooo... We drained the tank, filled it with gas, then shot starter fluid into the carb until it started to fire. It will take a bit but eventually it will start. You will have to keep shooting the either to it until it finally fully catches and the engine runs on it's own. It is going to smoke like there is no tomorrow until the lines, injectors and cylinders are clean. The diesel shouldn't hurt any of the sensors but with these over-computerized vehicles, you're guess is as good as mine there. It may throw codes until everything gets cleaned out.

I had diesel put in my tank. I recommend dropping tank and checking pick-up. Diesel can cause O-rings in gas pumps and in-tank filter to swell. I also had to clean injectors because of the diesel.
