So the other day I was backing out of the driveway and accidentally bumped the shifter into park while moving. I didn't hear any grinding or noise from the gears but my truck did stall. It's started back up and seems to be fine but should I check anything or be concerned? Btw I have a 2009 Laramie. Not sure which transmission is in it.

While not a best practice to do, you should be fine. Just about all modern automatics have a safety interlock override for the situation you mentioned. Usually when it is slammed from either a driving gear into park or reverse, there is a small clatter but that is the safety interlock override preventing/minimizing damage to the gearing.

You have the 545rfe and you'll be fine, I've done it a time or two myself and it's not the end of the world, just not something to do all the time.

If you begin to experience further issues or consistencies with stalling, please let me know. Thanks - Kevin T, Social Connect Team
