Ok so I was at my hunting camp yesterday and had to lock it in. It was pretty soft with some water and I had to get on it pretty hard to make it through. My svc 4wd, abs and traction control light came on. I can't notice anything not working correctly except my cruise control won't work. I unhooked the battery to try and clear the codes but they came back on right away. Is there anything I can do to avoil taking it to the dealer?

Knowing why those lights are on is the first step. If it is not under warranty, pull the codes and see what they are.

I actually had the same issue come up except I hit a big bump (I mean deep trench). It was weird. Same behavior you are describing. It magically went away by the time I got home (3 hour trip). Still not sure what it was. No codes were left.

So I'm not getting any codes or at least the reader I used isn't showing any. My cruise won't still won't work and my truck won't switch into 4 lo.

If the light is on there are codes in the abs module. The cruise won't work if there is an abs problem. Need a different reader. You can look around and see if you can find a broken wire or sensor or something but until you pull the codes, it will kind of just be guessing.

Did you try resetting? Like I stated before, this happened to me and it never came up with a code (atleast not on my Trinity, which will pull soft codes as well as hard codes).

Remove negative cable and let it sit for 30+ min. See if it goes away.

It likely only pulls pcm codes.

Ya i did reset the ecm. Lights came back on right away. I'll get a different reader tomorrow or Tuesday to read the codes. I'll let yall know what they are. Do yall know how the 4wd actuates? Is it like the IWE sy stem ford uses or is it something different? I tried to shift it into 4 hi on the fly and it shuttered and mad a slight grinding noise before it locked in?

You are supposed to be able to shift on the fly but I never trust that personally.

I've done it before a couple times and never had a problem. I don't do it often, hardly ever actually. First time it ever did that though.

IWE is independent wheel ends. Fords 4wd system engages and disengagespecially off of vacumm. I was wondering if ram uses the same system or if it all electronic. Might give me a clue to what the issue is but I'm sure when I find out the codes that will take the guess work out.

I've shifted into 4wd at 45 or 50 more than once, this season alone.
I would look around actuator and be sure there is no obstruction. Then I would look at wheel ends for any debris or busted sensors.

The connector for the rear abs sensor is broke off. Sensor itself is intact. Do any yall know where I can get just a connetor. I called the dealer and they'll only sell me the whole harness. 300 bucks. Anyone got an idea. Website maybe?

Nice find. I'm sure there is somewhere online but I don't know of any place but the dealer. Call and talk to someone else or another dealer. They sell connector repair kits for almost every connector on the truck. Usually around $20.
