I'm looking for opinions on which custom tune to get. Currently I am running a Bully Dog on performance setting. It is alot better than stock but I'd really like a little more uumph. I love the gauge part of the BD and I will keep that as a gauge. Here is a list of my mods for y'all to see what I need in a tune. Would I really benefit from the Whitelightning trans tune as well as the engine? Or would I be ok with just the Hemifever? I tried a Hemifever tune on the Trinity before I got the BD and could not get it to work with the Windows 8 on my laptop, but I can use my wifes computer to do it now. Opinions please........

I currently have: 4x4 CC, BD tuner on performance setting, 85mm TB from Moe's, 180 degree TS, Catch can, Mufflex 22'' or 24''?, S&B CAI, 2400-2600 ? stall Edge TC, and horrible 3.55 gears......

The way I understand it is Sean(Hemifever) is very knowledgeable and knows his way around the 4th gens. Dave(whitelightning), last I heard from him directly, was more familiar with 3rd gens but was getting into 4th gens more. Both know their stuff.

Sean does both engine and transmission tuning but is more engine centric. Dave is the opposite, more trans centric but was doing more engine stuff last I talked to him. Some have an engine tune from Sean and a trans tune from Dave.

on the move..

Dave's trans tuning is Damn good, Sean's engine tubes are great. I ran them both for a while. now I run a dyno tune and Dave's trans tune.

I have spoken with a lot of people who seem to go that route, hemifever engine and whitelightning trans tune.

Wish someone could test all 4 variations of engine/trans tune on a dyno to see which is best. hemifever/hemifever, hemifever/whitelightning, whitelightning/hemifever, whitelightning/whitelightning

I know Dave's tinge have me a second gear chirp at part throttle... I'd say his tune worked beautifully

Im running Seans tune and love it. Ive heard great reviews about Daves tunes as well and have seen a few people getting Seans engine tune and Daves trans tune and running them together. Either way you go you will be very happy!!!!

I think the increased driveability of a great trans tune outweighs the delta between their engine tune tune power increases.

i'm running a pretty aggressive whitelightning trans tune. i told him that i hated how hard it was to get the truck to downshift and just get up and go in general when i first got it..

few back and forth emails and THAT throttle response. .sensitive, to say the least. been running it for just over a month now, couldnt be happier with the truck.

So he was able to tune the "delay" out like when you floor it and it takes forever to downshift? That alone would be worth the money for me.

yep, he did. i know exactly what you're talking about and that was my first question to dave as well.

give you an example..say you're cruising in slow traffic around 20 mph in a 50 zone and suddenly traffic picks up speed, stock - you gotta almost floor it to downshift and go. .but with the WL tune, slight throttle and it'll downshift nice and easy and go. give it a bit more and it'll downshift hard and your head WILL hit the crooked a** headrest. lol

I think the hemi makes plenty of power I just wanna reduce the torque management and make the trans shift better

I've heard some nasty stuff about whitelightning recently on the other forum. Not going to go into because there's some **** mods on here(lol) but search for your self.

Im going with superchips eventually.

And there are proper explanations for these with the exception of 1, but reasons for what happened that was NOT shared....just the negative was shared.

None the less, both are great tunes.
Obviously we work closely with Dave aka WhiteLightning and push his tunes, but I have and ran both on my truck and is why we partnered with Dave.

yes, his response time is not as quick as HF, but he does take his time with each individual vs trying to do many tunes at once with many individuals. Not saying HF does this, but we do know Daves work load.

None the less, he (WL) can really wake your truck up. He can go as aggressive as youd like and make sure you are aware of things. But he will not tune your truck to the point of it blowing up.
Then he tune your tranny as calm as you like it.

If anyone needs his tune, reach out to me via PM or email ([email protected])
