I have a 2018 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 liter hemi and 8 speed transmission. When taking off on a fairly steep hill, the truck hesitates and won't go and sometimes the ESC light flashes. I can back off the incline and it will take off normally. Any ideas on what is going on?

It might have something to do with the Hill Start Assist but that's supposed to keep you from rolling backwards on inclines when stopped. Maybe a problem with the pitch sensor. If you have the 8.4 there is an option to turn the HSA off.

Mine kinda does this too and I never knew how to articulate the problem like you have.

Lag lag lag then the trans finally catches up and kinda snaps your neck back and the tires chirp a little.

Can anybody else weigh in on this?
