Hello Dodge Truck people I'm new here but not to Dodge 4x4's, my first truck was a 1979 4x4 Dodge Power Wagon short bed w/318, from there I was hooked on Dodge trucks, though not unfamiliar with Mopar as I had previously owned a 1965 Dodge Dart GT w/273 V8 and a 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S w/273 Commando V8.
For other Dodge trucks I have also owned 2, 1979 4x4 Dodge Ram Chargers, 1988 Dodge Ram 4x4 and a 1996 dodge Ram 4x4 short bed.
And to add, unless it was computer related(which I never had issues with) I always did my own drivetrain repairs.
Now that I've gotten the intro out of the way I have a question that I've sent to Chrysler several times via email but can't seem to get a solid knowledgeable answer or no response at all.
Does ANYONE know, early or late in the exact year, was the transfer case manual shift removed from the floor??
This maybe because I haven't owned a truck with it on the dash, but I'm not a huge fan of not having a manual transfer case shift on the floor.
I'm going to be in the market for another Dodge 4x4 soon and I'm flopping back and forth on something in the updated range or searching for another 70's something Power Wagon
Thanks for any help!!

Been a Mopar man for 45 years. Never got into any 4x4 stuff but I have personally never seen one that wasn't on the floor. I know that doesn't answer your question factually but that's all I got. Welcome to the forum otherwise!

I think for 1500 trucks it was around 03 or 04 models when they moved the transfer case from floor board. Not sure about the 2500 and 3500 models. I know the 2017 2500 I test drove yrs back had it in the floor. Not sure about the 5th generation rams

The 1500's still had it on the floor in 2004. Below is a pic from my previous truck.
