hey guys, for those of you with daytime running lights and projector housings... is it just the turn signals that are supposed to illuminate? or are the projectors supposed to illuminate at DRLs as well?

i installed HIDs today and couldve sworn that the projectors illuminated as DRLs before but i could be mistaken. goes to say that they do not now after install

I believe I have read posts in the past that said Canadian trucks have DRL's so you may be right that your truck had DRL's.

I’m in Canada! I have drls but I was wondering if something from my hid install messed with my drls because all I get no when I’m in drive is the turn signals

Only the turn signal as DRL!
(I have a 2016 Canadian 1500 with the projectors. And HID)

I don’t know, I’m actually not sure that the highs are susposed to illuminate. The whole reason I’m asking here.

I thought that it was just the turn signals on projector lights. Now on the non projector headlights it’s something else

hey guys, have my next issue im trying to get dealt with. i think the tab on the 14 pin connector behind the headlight has broken off causing the turn signal to go out and the low beam to work intermittently . do you know if they sell a replacement connector? dont need the whole wiring harness.

i found this but its for VW's... looks pretty similar to me

I think highs only light up half power for DRLS on reflector lights.

You can't have bixenon and do a low voltage to make drl in the same bulb. Lo and high beam are the same bulb just a matter of the internal cutoff shield dropping for the hi beam. If the connector pin is broke, you should be able to find replacement pins and make it work. Double check to make sure it's not just bent and missing the hole. JJ at retroshop might make harnesses.

the low and the high are different bulbs in the projector housing,

and i broke the tab on the outside of the connector so it doesnt sit properly, need a new one or need to jimmy rig so it stays connected

Sorry i thought it was all one for some reason. You should be able to have the hi beam as drl then. The projector, no.

Projector housings use the amber turn signals as DRL's- not the actual headlight bulb. High beams are strictly high beams (separate bulb system from the low beam).

As far as your pin issue- sorry can't help there.
