High rpms

I have a 96 ram with the 5.2. When driving down the road the rpms stay up around 2000. That is even cruising speed. Could I get a little help please.

Do you feel the shift into overdrive? - Do you see the initial drop during the shift to overdrive and the drop when the Torque Convertor locks up?

My 03 ram

i have the same problem or i will set my cruse control at 55 and i will come to a small incline and it will jump to 3 grand, its always dropping a gear fro nothing

Sounds like it's not going into overdrive. My rpms are right around 2000 just before it shifts to overdrive. It usually drops to around 1500 or so at 55 on the highway.
