I'd like to install a homemade catch-can on my Hemi Express, but could use some visual help in knowing where to cut in to the PCV line. Does anyone have some photos they could share that would make the job a bit easier? Thanks!

You dont cut the pcv line it comes off all together and you replace it with 3/8 line with the filter/can in the middle. The hard factory line runs from the back of the intake manifold to the throttle body on the passenger side of the motor. I did this and dont really recommend the DIY can, it still lets a measurable amount of oil through back into the intake. Its better than nothing but not nearly as good as a real catch can. I switched to a Billet Tech can after about 2 months.

Catch Can

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't disagree that a purpose-built catch can will be more efficient, but I had great success with the "compressor-filter" homemade catch can on my turbo PT Cruiser for many years. I tend to check under the hood at most gas stops and was always ahead of the catch can. Thanks so much for the description on how to locate the line. One of the mechanics at the dealership tried to tell me that the large tube going from the oil-fill port to the air box was the PCV line. I was quite sure that wasn't the case as my Cruiser also had a similar tube. I was able to get my "home-made" catch can installed this afternoon. I'll be interested to see how it works. With Christmas coming, perhaps the "better half" will encourage me to step up to a "real" one! :licklips: Here is the best picture I could get with my smartphone in the sunlight. Once I had the right line, it was a simple addition. Thanks again!
