Yesterday I installed two Stebel Horns. I got them for my car more than a year ago and never installed them so I figured I'd just put them in the truck. I will post photos of them but I'm rushed to get this on the thread because I have to leave for work.

Here is a before sound...

Here is an AFTER sound. A little more high pitched and now echos in the neighborhood.

Her are some pics. I didn't want to alter the truck in case I decided to put the stocks back in. At first the mod was to switch the horns but after I figured what the heck so I piled the stocks in by turning them around.
After removing the grill I had this. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349026581.750877.jpg. They came out with a 10mm nut in the rear. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349026647.315309.jpg
I took an old sheet of aluminum I had, cut it to size and drilled a 5/16 hole on both sides. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349026865.094592.jpg. This was to accommodate the size of the new horns. Here they are installed. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349026937.223651.jpg I installed the horns ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349026997.018200.jpg and then I started the wiring. Trying to tap into the battery terminal I broke the bolt so I had to take a trip to the auto parts store. The new one had a bigger bolt and didn't fit threw the cable so I had to expand the cable hole with my Dremel. If you see the pick of the new terminal you'll notice the wing nut, that's how the replacement came. Ram dealership parts dept was already closed. I just got limited to post the next pic since I'm on Tapatalk. To be continued.

I used looming to make the install clean. I hate a mess under the hood. Once I tied everything down, relays installed I decided to put the stock horns back in. They fit turned around. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349027533.660036.jpg. I spliced and tinned the wires with a soldering gun so I wasn't removing the original plugs. The job was finished by cleaning everything up. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349027697.212907.jpg. The truck was reassembled. Hope you like. The horns are pretty freakin loud for only spending $100.

I still wanna install a Grover Stuttertone...but unfortunately I don't have an Air Horn setup...

I really like your set up, but I'd love it even more if the tone was lower pitched...!

I agree but I can tell you that high pitch sound you hear is ear piercing. What I really want is straight up train horns. I've had my eye on a set but it's $500 (of course there is also one for $1,500). I just don't know where I will mount everything. I don't want to loose my bed to a compressor and I'd rather not have it inside the cab taking up space.

I had to share this. I was driving on the Florida Turnpike, in the left lane, slowly passing a young female driving a BMW. I saw her left turn blinker start to flash and her car began to drift toward and into my lane. My front bumper was about even with her driver door. I hit my horn and she about had a heart attack and ****** her car so hard to the right I thought she was going to loose it. As I passed I waved to her friendly like. If looks could kill, I'd be dead right now... lmao :rockit:

Air horn setup is pretty nice, plus it gives you a reserve tank for low tire top offs, etc. I will take some pics of mine, and post it up, but it is all mounted under the truck/in the engine bay, so no wasted space.

EDIT: Added pics. Also, the tank is strapped as an additional "safety" measure. I welded a bracket on the top that bolts into one of the bed's frame rails, but I figured since I could add a strap, I would. More is always better than less in this case. Also a couple pieces of foam-board between the exhaust hangers, and the tank make it rattle free.

I like the way you mounted the air tank. How would you use the air to fill a tire? Do you have a quick disconnect where you attach an air hose up? Is that what I see near the tank handle?

Ya, there is a T right by the handle that has a quick connect on one side, and the air line to the front on the other. It also sits just high enough, and tight enough behind the wheel well flare inside that it stays pretty clear of road debris from the tires.

Sweet! How many gallons does your tank hold?
