How many miles are on your 4th Gen?

This has been debated but I personally would side with maintenance. Some people don't keep a vehicle long and the vehicle makers would probably prefer you just destroy and buy another it would seem with lifetime fluid gimmicks. I have always been a little leery of flushes but I would try that over nothing. The filter if there even is one on the 8 speed would be my biggest concern.

I saw guy on YouTube with the ecoDiesel and the 8speed. 40k on the truck and the tranny fluid looked like it had 100k on it. The filter of the 8 speed is extremely expensive tho

Thanks I was asking becuz I've heard that changing the transmission fluid does more harm than good which I find hard to believe. That's why I asked. I have the same tranny.

Changing it does not harm it along with the filter. Where you can get into problems is when they are flushed,

I replaced all 4 of mine at 40,000 miles with Bilstein 5100's but did not need to...the OEMs were still fine.
