Sweet, we have an ignore function here! I'm allergic to ignorance and egos, so the double dose has been killing me. One button away from peace!

You know what guys, i pulled the damn wires from a new harness and there is a full loop, i have a factory install, not some bastardized half attempted only use what wires i need and only add **** when its needed. My install is identical to what it would be if it came from the factory and there is a freaking loop of those wires that is a closed system between the two seats. you can look in my truck and it all looks factory, i didnt hack and splice, i used every inch of wire from where it was supposed to go to where it went. I am done with this BS that everyone has to tweak and do what they think when i been doing this for 2 years and have added more mods to my truck than anyone.

the dam temp sense and return do feed signals back to the bcm and do use can bus technology. You can parse words and try to act like its not what it is, do what you want. i am over this bs.

the dude asked will it work, what do i do and all i am saying is - what the hell, you have left over wires that go to the damn passenger seat!! here is what you do with them. Dont just put black tape on them and pat yourself on the ass like you did a good job, they all have a home. Maybe if you do the shade tree way of only do what wires you THINK you need till you get the lights on your dash to work, you might never experience this, but i did ALL the wires.

You need to settle down a little bit. First of all there's nothing that is hacked on my truck and I don't appreciate you insinuating there is. The reason you have used Factory harnesses because you're not capable of making your own. Nobody was trying to discredit you or make you angry we are trying to make sure the information you gave was correct. When you post things people take what you say literally. Even if you knew what you were saying and you meant something different most people might not pick up on that and get the wrong idea. Since we wired the seats from the bottom up I'm pretty sure we all have a pretty good understanding of what makes them work. You act like you're some kind of an expert I saw you make a post the other day saying you didn't know if you had an RA3 or an RA4 radio so I doubt you are an expert any more than anybody else. Every single thing I have done to my truck looks Factory I ordered all of the plugs and connectors from Nexus electronics and wired them exactly as Factory. The only thing I could not do was duplicate the color of the wires I'm sorry that is considered a hack job by you. Your the one that came bursting back into the forum thinking you knew everything when you knew nothing and now you're at it again. Everything you had done you have done by a dealer. If you want to go out and pay $1,000 for a factory harness so you can pick apart the little pieces you need go ahead we're capable of building our own so we don't have to do that. I have tried to be nice to you but I am done when you start belittling my truck and the work I've done and the things that myself 00/RT ,Deer Guy and others it figured out. You are stepping wait out of bounds. You are the first person on this forum I've ever felt compelled to say something that wasn't nice or professional but you are getting on my nerves.

Well at least there is 78 pages of good info before it turned into a $hitstorm :puke:.

Let's get back on topic & stop with the drama. I appreciate everyone in this Forum. Especially the guys who started this DIY on seats & the steering wheel.

Okay well I took the plunge on a VR4 radio as well. So that is one more mod I need to get done to go along with the seats. Sound like I have a better shot of making it all work with it in place. Now I just need to order the hvac module & wiring harness for it. As well as the 911 jumper thing.

Damn this mod stuff is expensive :jawdrop:

You wont need the 911 jumper. CA radios dont have the integrated cell radio

heated seats done today driver or passenger will work independently of each other unplugged and cycled to verify operation if one side or other is unplugged switch just turns right back off for side thats disconnected as does heated wheel switch
didnt do wheel yet still have to get clockspring
oddly enough im getting an extra temp slider under climate on 8.4 that can be adjusted but goes away if you hit either warm or cool arrows on bezel
anyone noticed this extra temp adjuster on their truck
are these pads regulated internally in the ra4 radio by time or temp sense feedback?

Adding Heated/Ventelated seats and Heated Wheel to Express/Tradesman

Well I finally got another set of seats, these are out of a 2015 CC. Casey from seats and such and I came to a amicable agreement with me getting partial reimbursement and keeping the 2014 5500 seats. Casey was more than fair and I thank him for that. The new set came with a backseat which I have no use for so I will be selling both the buckets and backseat in the very near future, all are like new.

Not sure why the memory worked for me and not others? Prior to swapping them out I will take screen shots off all the options that available for both sets and see if the memory still works on the 2015 seats. I am also curious to see if they have the same modules and if the 2015 seats have the added options to change fabric type etc. Seats are coming by the end of the week, so possibly this weekend. Still waiting for my refund from LKQ!IMG_0989.JPGIMG_0990.JPGIMG_0994.JPGIMG_0992.JPGIMG_0993.JPG

Cool! It's good you're finally getting a good set of seats.

As far as the options go, I expect you won't see anything different. Those live in the BCM and not the seat module, so it's a function of the truck's MY. The heated cloth ones I have right now are from a 2015 but I don't have any of the extra stuff.

Can you take a shot of your harness going into the seat module. Im curious to if your trucks side is completely populated, and if it is why!

Ok not that concerned but something just caught my eye? The backseat does not seam to have the fold down center armrest / cup holder? Am I seeing things I thought all Laramies had that?

For the base seat install, 9 slots are populated. If everything is populated, then you have rear heated seats, memory seats, and adjustable pedals.

If the Laramie seats are out of a Quad Cab it will not have the center fold down section in the rear seat. That is only available on The Crew Cabs.

That's why I don't understand why cptwing would have the wiring. There are no regular cabs with those options, so there is no reason why such a harness should exist.
