So what puts these settings there? How some have it and some do not? 00R/T did you get your soft keys on your radio fixed? Also do you think switching the seat module is doable and might it bring back the remote start functionality because that module is set for that? I will try clearing DTCs first though. Is there another setting in the BCM that we may have missed that puts the comfort control settings in the radio?

I do not have the settings but mine comes on automatically at 40 degrees. I don't know if they come on with a remote start as I have never remote started the truck above 40 degrees.

Can you share a couple pictures of where the settings are in the radio & EVIC? That might help some of us get closer. I hope to have the 8.4 spd harness soon so I can get the heated seats at least working. Also I see an AE tool in my future and since I also have a 2008 JKU it can do double duty for troubleshooting

Do we know if the AE tool can turn on the cargo & rear camera function too:naughty:

Correct. I have the comfort settings in my radio. I also have the setting for the nav in the EVIC.

If you dont have the soft keys, and the heated seat buttons work but cooled doesnt you have two options.

1) go to the dealer and get them flashed. Can be done and if the mechanic likes you it can be negotiated.

2) buy an AE tool, takes 2 mintues and to setup and you have a tool that can be used on other things as you add them in the future.

So, I put in my Laramie driver's seat today to test it out. Memory doesn't work, but I didn't expect it to. Both of the heated seats and the heated steering wheel still work, which is a relief. But, no dice on the ventilated.

I added the option in ECU 3 and that gave me the soft keys. When I try to turn the seat on, it turns off after a few seconds. No big deal, I just need to add it under "memory". I did that, and it still won't work. I suppose it's possible that it has to do with the lack of a passenger seat, but I think that is unlikely. I'm not really sure what to try next.

Adding Heated/Ventelated seats and Heated Wheel to Express/Tradesman

Weird I don't have my heated pads in passenger seat yet drivers still works perfect
Hooked pads up to my pass wiring with it in floor they heated fine as well
Don't have soft keys haven't got ae tool yet
Don't have wheel done yet either so it's out of the loop as well

Wondering why ventilations off on your truck and keys shuffled around
You had it working before correct ?
May not add soft keys for a while until this gets figured out

Unfortunately the dealer cannot add the codes for the cooled seats unless it is on the available options list which would only be in the Sport the Laramie,Longhorn and Limited. Some have been able to have codes not on the available options list added by WIC in the past but very few have been successful. I have also heard Chrysler is no longer allowing dealers to use WIC to add codes. Basically as far as we know now the AE tool is the only other option to add the codes.

I am at a loss as well. Obviously since your truck came with all the factory wiring we know there's no issues with any of that. Did you install your switch panel yet? Do you have any DTC codes?

I installed the switch panel Friday when I had the dash apart but it didn't work at all (not even the trac and tow/haul buttons). I haven't had a chance yet to figure out if the switch is bad or if those sneaky SOBs changed the LIN protocol between 13 and 14. I think it's the latter, but I need to compare p/n's to be sure.

The only codes I have are for the rear seat heaters not being there.

Even after using the AE tool and the switch panel was installed 2 week prior my ventilated seats did not work for about 3 ignition cycles. Dont know if you went through that already but it was a great surprise for me getting in my truck a few hours later and the seat button was blue!

I've only tried a few times. It was 18° when I left this morning so it's not a huge priority. But, I do want to get it working eventually. Hopefully after I have the switch and the passenger side seat in it will decide to fix itself.

Ill go unlplug my passenger this afternoon to see what the seats do. I do not have the steering wheel yet but that doesnt affect my seats at all. They come on with remote start, and in the odd state of Florida Ive had 40 and less days so the heated was on, and then 2 days later its hot enough to activate the cooled with remote start.

Unplugged the passenger seat and it had no effect on the driver seat. The passenger buttons would illuminate if I tried to activated heated or cooled but would turn off seconds after it realized the seat wasn't there. Plugged the seat back in and both heat and cooled functioned immediately.

I think yours is in the BCM.

I dont want to say something stupid, but they are ventilated right?

This leads me to believe there is a hidden issue here. My buttons worked without adding the codes in AE for the heated seats, the cooled would not function till I added the option to the BCM. If all the buttons are not working this makes me think you either have a bad module or something is wrong in your communication bus somewhere.

I cleared any DTCs, did not even look at what they might have been, did a factory restore on the radio in the hope that the Auto comfort option might appear. The seats seem to work faster and get hotter now but still do not come on automatically on start / remote start, it was 8 degrees this morning so the would have come on.

I am convinced now that the module in my current seats had this option turned off in the donor truck. I am going to swap modules and see if this function returns. I wish there was a way to add that option line to my radio menu. I wonder if the Genie adds that? I also wonder if the AE can add that and I / we just do not know how. Also Cuyler mentioned some "Cheat Book" for getting his AC outlet to work, it would be nice if he would share some of these cheats from the book.

My current switch bank just has the heated buttons and it works fine. The new one I have has the ventilated buttons as well and it's the one that doesn't work. So, it's something with that module. I don't know yet if it's the wrong p/n or just defective.

The seats are definitely ventilated. They're from a 13 Laramie so it's the same year as my truck.

I still do not have the comfort options in the radio, but they do come on as they are suppose to with remote start so Im not going digging. I wonder where it would be. If you find it please let me know!

They are not "supposed" to come on with remote start its a selectable option, but since my truck did not come with the seats, wheel or RA4 I do not have the ability to select or unselect it. My first set of seats from the 5500 did come on with remote start, so I assume if I switch the module from that seat to the ones I have now it will work again.

00R/T did your radio soft keys straighten themselves out?

All I can say is thank you to all of those working through this. Makes it so much easier for the rest of us. I can't wait to finish this mod. I never would have attempted it (at least not successfully) without you guys leading the way
