I have tried a brand new homelink module with the same results. I am having the dealer do the codes and programming for my remote start and rear view camera tomorrow, going to have them add the CV2 code for the overhead console too. Hopefully that will make it work.

Adding the CV2 sales code should make the commands come up on your EVIC. As far as the Homelink not working make sure you determine weather or not your garage door opener has a rolling code or not. If it has a rolling code you will need to refer to the owners manual and program it accordingly. Alot of people assume there Homelink is not working because they are programming it incorrectly.

Please let me know if it works out for you! I should be taking mine in for oil change and fuel filters in the next month or so.

Well, it still doesn't work. My remote start and backup camera work, but still no home link or compass. Is there a way to check if the CV2 code was actually added ?

Working on the install now. I have an extra female 3 wire plug that plugs into the console for the maps lights without the wires. I'd be willing to sell it if someone needs it. I am looking for a rear window switch blank. Please let me know if you're interested!

Are you looking for the blank panel or the panel with the switch?

The blank panel

I read in this thread that they are impossible to find and the alternative is to buy another console to obtain such pieces. I do not have a powered back window and I'm looking for blank to cover the hole in my console. Have you had any luck finding these, SitKneelBend?

Nope... sorry. I was going to offer you the switch one. I'm pretty sure I have one and the switch for it in my shop somewhere.

Believe it or not the cup holder wiring plugs into a harness that runs up the passenger side C pillar. It's a green and while wire attached to a plug behind the trim panel. This was on my 14 Quad Cab. I would think the Crew Cab is the same but can't verify for sure.

I can confirm. I have a 14 tradesman crew and it is there. For me it was a single male plug with one pin in it. Instead of getting the female plug, it was easier to use a 2.8mm female spade connector and just push it onto the pin. The hardest part was running the wire if you do not drop the headliner so I used a straight coat hanger going through the center cabin light first then through the hole for the overhead console second.

To get to the plug, carefully remove the trim plug on top of the passenger C pillar, take out the Phillips screw, and carefully pry it back. I was able to do all of the work without taking the trim completely off.

The cup holder light will come on when you turn your parking lights or head lights on, and when you open the door. If you only open the door, it will fade to off like your cabin light normally does or will immediately turn off when you turn the key.

Thank you Ricks Ram, this really helped prevent a lot of extra work for me.

Need help:

I installed the overhead console with the Homelink/compass module. Went to the dealer, they programmed codes CV2 and CUN. The Homelink works now, but I do not have the compass on the cluster gauge and now I lost the guiding lines on my back up camera. Anyone have any ideas or additional codes to add?

I have a '14 1500 tradesman crew cab with the basic radio (RA1 I think)

EDIT: they added CV2 by itself and it did not work. Adding CUN did make the Homelink work

If your backup camera shows up in your radio screen you have the RA2 radio. It is possible when the dealer flashed to codes it reset your radio. I recommend going into your settings and see if the active guidelines option is enabled or not. If your backup camera is in the mirror you could have either the RA1 or RA2 radio. I am not sure where you would turn in the guidelines with the RA1 radio possibly the radio or the EVIC. Might not be your issue but it's worth a try to check.

Thank you for your reply. I have the camera screen in the mirror and the very basic radio. The option in my radio settings are changing the clock, preset reset (already tried this, didn't work), and volume limit. I did briefly look through the EVIC and didn't see an option, but I will look more thoroughly.

If I found the code for the backup camera and had them reprogram that sales code, do you think that would work? Thank you again for your help! I'll let You know if I find any more info through the EVIC.

My truck originally came with the RA2 radio and the option to turn the active gridlines on and off was in the radio settings. The RA1 equipped trucks ( which you have) have most if there controls in the EVIC. I am not sure if the RA1 equipped trucks have the option to turn the lines on and off. I would assume they do and if they did the option would be in the EVIC. As far as re loading the code in the truck you could give it a try if the dealer is willing to do it for you. I would see if they will do it for free since you just had a bunch of codes added. Hopefully someone with an RA1 truck with the factory backup camera will chime in about the option to turn the active gridlines on and off. I can't remember the code for the backup camera off hand but the dealer should be able to easily install the code. They do alot if them.

Problem solved!! Well, partially.

I took my truck back to the dealer today to have them look at it about the missing active guidelines (that is their official name apparently). When the tech programmed CUN and CV2 yesterday, he somehow removed the XAC code that Mpgrimm2 mentioned and that solved the problem. Now I can access the settings in the EVIC as you mentioned, Ricks Ram. Thank you to both of you.

I mentioned partially fix because the end goal was to have the Homelink and compass operational. The Homelink works perfectly, but since I have the RA1 radio and the standard instrument cluster, there is no option to get the compass to display on the EVIC. The proper sales code for this is JFJ. They explained to me that adding a sales code to a vin number/computer is typing in the vin, and a drop down box appears to select the sales code. As a result of my set up with standard everything, there is no option to add the JFJ code and no way to override it. If I had the RA2 or better then it would work. It would be nice to have but everything else works so I'm happy. Great thread Sideshow and thanks again for your help Ricks Ram and Mpgrimm2

Glad to hear you got it figured out. Contrary to what the Tech stated the standard 3.5 speedometer does show the compass heading. It is opposite the temp display in the EVIC. They are correct about your truck not having the option for the JFJ code. I and some others have bought our own tool to add codes to our trucks. It works ok but it does have some risk involved so I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. The problem is that the code is actually in your BCM but Chrysler hasn't enabled it in your options list because of your particular trim level. OBD Genie(Infotainment) is a vendor in the forum. I recommend checking out there website. They have several Genies to unlock codes on our trucks. I don't belive they have the JFJ or Compass Genie yet but they have a message line and are interested in hearing about what options forum members want. Long story short is it's not impossible for you to add the code you just need to figure out how to do it.....

Now that you have it figured out I feel better about hijacking since everyone subscribed to this thread will probably like this question AND be able to answer it (at least better than me).

I have heard about the mirror with a backup camera (LCD screen?) in it mentioned. Does anyone have a picture of it in operation? Would it be possible to feed that screen any camera input?

REVISED:

Got it working and installed. Pulled the White/Green wire mentioned before from the Passanger side C-pillar and ran it down under the carpet along the door sills to the dash, then up the Pass. A pillar. What a PITA.

This is very confusing though, As I could not wire my OHC the way you guys mentioned, nor the way your diagrams showed. I had to use completely different spots for constant power, Dome light power and ground. I'm wondering if the 13+ trucks are different from the 09+ trucks. Also wondering if its different when you wire a 13+ truck with a 09+ OHC or not. I'm very confused. either way, mine is working and installed!!!

Additional: I made a diagram as to how I ended up wiring it. It functions 100% at this point, but its a different setup then what you guys posted about I think...

Also: Has anyone found Rocker switches that will fit where the Homelink setup should go? Thatd be a sweet spot for some Aux Rocker Switches.

Anyone have any idea what the color code for Lin bus wire coming off the green connector is on a 2015, or maybe the correct slot for the pin to go in? Ive read the entire string backwards and forwards, still havent seen anything on the codes for a 15.

FYI, Im trying to get the Homelink connected to the Lin bus.

Ecit#1 Ran power and ground to the homelink, so far the unit does not work. I read somewhere the homelink needs the Linbus wire to function, it needs a signal that the Alarm is turned on or something like that? Still cant find that particular wire on my truck at the green plug under the dash? Looking for some help..

Edit#2 I ran a wire from what I thought was the Linbus to the module, now it powers and lights up. I still have nothing on my EVIC so off tot he dealership tomorrow morning for the code upload. Maybe that will work?
