Thanks for letting me join! I currently have a 2017 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Crew Cab 6'4" as my truck. Before that I had a 2008 1500 5.7 Hemi Also crew cab and longer bed.
I join yall to understand the best upgrades as my truck is at 120,000 miles and I am about to do some maintenence work. I will do my best to look for previous posts on these questions but if you have thoughts or know of good threads please comment them.
Upcoming work:
- Fenders Liner Replacements. My factory fenders liners both got pushed back into the wheel when driving and caused major tears. I had both replaced, and the passenger side is doing well but the driver side has already had the same issues. Any thoughts on how to keep it tucked in to avoid getting caught on the tires?
- Coolant Flush and Radiator Replacment. Using MOPAR concentrate coolant and distilled water. Any thoughts on what temp thermostat to replace with? I live at 1500ft elevation roughly in North Dakota so cold winters (-40dF+ with wind chill) and summers into the low 100s. I often go into high mountains 6-10k elevation usually in fall for hunting so temps could be -10 - 70 dF
- Headlight Upgrade: Man I have been through a lot of headlights, as the plastic tabs you bolt down constantly break. For that reason I dont want to upgrade to expensive new housing units. I have the quad type halogen housings and want to use plug n play LED bulbs. Again snowy winters and moderate rain conditions, so what is the recommended bulb brand, lumens, and color?
- Spark Plugs: I am likely going with the NGK 92145 Iridiums for $7.05 unless the NGK 96355 Ruthenium for $9.20 makes more sense?
Bumper Bracket replacement: I have a history of having the front bumper get jacked up and pushed back up into the fender. I assume my brackets are bent and need replaced to correct the issue. I am thinking of going to an aftermarket bumper to help if I hit a deer at night with the ****** halogen bulbs I currently have. I need something with fog lights and parking sensor cut outs. Any recommendations, preferably with a built in grill guard and upper bumper cover removal?
