Huge difference with lifter replacement

Now that I've gotten the bad lifter replaced I cant help but wonder if it had been bad for far longer before it failed. Certain noises that the dealership claimed were "normal" are now gone. That should have been repaired under warranty or extended warranty.

@RamCares, any advice?

Anyways:

AZ to OR --> avg 12.3 mpg @ ~70 mph
So far OR to Redding --> 16.2 mpg ~70mph [through the siskiyou's]

You lost me here. The year is 2020, and it is a forgone conclusion dealers are pond ****. Anyhow, congrats on the success.
