I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Tradesman and I have been having the issue with my AC recirculation where it is randomly turning on and off even when I don't have the button engaged. The major problem is that I have the loud whistle when in re-circ mode so I try and keep it in outside air mode all the time. I have read that the humidity sensor might be the cause of the re-circ turning on and off. I have looked high and low in my truck and on parts diagrams and can't find the humidity sensor anywhere. It is not near the rearview mirror like pictures suggest. Does my truck have a humidity sensor? Extra bonus if you have a solution to the whistle, the dealer wanted $200 just to take a look. Thank you!

The standard manual temp control with variable blower motor(7 speed) will enable air recirculation based out outside temp, even without any additional sensors, or the auto climate feature.
Humidity sensor would be noticeable on the windshield as a small black box to the right of the mirror cover. It's unlikely that you have one

You should be able to override this by pressing the recirculation button twice. I don't believe there is a way to completely bypass. Could remove the recirc door. This may negativity impact ac performance. Not sure on that.

As far as the whistle, I'm not entirely sure. But your recirc door may be damaged. It's fairly easy to visually inspect. Just remove the lower glove box, and it'll be the white accordion looking flap above the evap box.
May be easier to see with the upper box/cubby removed

Thanks for the quick reply. When the re-circ starts automatically and the whistling begins, i’ll click the re-circ button on then off again and it will revert back to fresh air for a few minutes and then automatically start again. I’ve read all the related posts and it seems to be a different cause for everybody. The manuals mention an override but it isn’t more than a few minutes before it starts again. Seemed to start in May as the weather got warmer so maybe it will go away in the fall/winter. Anyway, thanks again i’m glad i don’t have to keep looking for the humidity sensor.
