So im no mechanic, but im handy and do alot of work on my truck.

Anyways below is what was determined the problem at Firestone. So no way in heck im paying that, so i assume i could replace the ac hose assembly that apparently was leaking myself. After that does the control module need to be replaced also? Everything seems to be working fine when i left. im assuming the mechanics did a good think and put some coolant in the system and its working as should.

So would you recomment just replacing the hose assembly, or try to find a module somewhere also?

DIY the hose then have it recharged.

Since the system works as it should after adding some gas, I would say you are GtG on the module.
