I have a 2016 Sport with DRL's enabled.

So I had a retrofit done along with RGBW boards and RGBW Halos. Both front and rear signals flash correct. Only my side mirrors hyperflash and I get errors for front signals out. I'm aware this is a common problem. I ordered the "Ram Hyperblink kit" from Diode so we'll see if it fixes it.

I'm just curious who else has had this issue? I've thought about alfaobd as well....but just not sure I need it or that it would work anyway....

That may fix the problem. Alphaobd has also fix I'd say 99% of those issues.

For alphaobd ($50) you'd need a android device ($50 Amazon Kindle fire 7 works) the obdlink mx (~$50)

Since your truck came with projectors try disconnecting your battery for a few minutes, then use each signal for about 15-20 seconds then use the 4 ways. If this trick works, within 15 seconds of using the 4 ways everything should work.

I've been trying to read about the alfa....damn it's a lot to read. Looks to me that's more for Rams with halogen lighting from factory...than installing LED's...whereas if you have factory LEDs and replace stuff...the changes thru alfa won't fix....but one thing at a time I guess. I know of some others on the facebook page that have the same setup/issue...but I don't think they've tried the fix from diode....

The change(s) are a little different with truck's that came with projectors. There is something in the door module that needs to be changed

I believe it fixes that. I know it's has something to do with hyper flash and errors. It was already disabled (I believe is what you'd set it too) on mine.

Most likely the kit you bought will fix your issue. I will say if you are running hid's getting alphaobd might not be a bad idea. Might save you a headache down the road

So forgive me now for all the questions...so you're saying that "It was already disabled? is what the setting is called in alfa?

And why would I need it for the HID's installed/what headaches? I did put HID's in....

I was trying to see if there were options I would care to add/disable/etc...and I think the only thing I can see I'd want is to be able to roll windows up/down with the fob...assuming I could add that....the sports have pretty much everything I want....I'd love to be able to get the windows to tilt on reverse...but I don't think mine will?

@Jimmy07 knows more on this setting. I believe truck's that came with quads it's disabled from the factory.

You can enable global windows down, up isn't supported by ram truck's for some reason.

Are truck's use pwm (pulse width modulation) as a way to monitor the low beams and extend the life of the halogen bulbs. Basically it drops voltage going to the low beams at a rapid rate. That's why when you see led headlights in vehicles, especially rams they have a blinking or rolling look. This isn't good for hid ballast and led's. By enabling hid with alphaobd it turns that feature off. That's why when you buy a "canbus compatible" kit it usually has a separate box with a resistor built in or one built in-line. The morimoto kits that come with the big resistor harness is the same thing. Only problem with those is it tricks the computer to think it still has the factory bulbs in and you may not get a warning if a bulb or ballast fails.

If your truck is factory projectors, there are settings in the AlfaOBD that will disable the front light fault sense wires, which will fix your mirrors hyperflash. They are called front driver and passenger door ajar switch usage. The purpose for these circuits on a ram truck is for the front lamp diagnostics, where on different FCA vehicles they might be used for door ajar switches.

Highly recommend checking out alfaobd, I've only had it a few days and have already made 5 changes and have more planned for when I have some more time. I have the longhorn trim and there's plenty of things to upgrade in there and I've also changed some of my settings over for some LEDs recently added, as a precaution for my low beams, and because it was necessary for some fog lights I had that were flickering (fixed them right up).

I really wish I had looked into it when I had my 13 sport, I would have made a lot of changes there as well. I also wonder if it could have helped me with my HID reliability issues I had with that truck.

For what is costs it really is a great value. It seemed a little overwhelming when I started to look into it but it's not too difficult to use and there is plenty of info/videos online to answer questions that may come up.

Yea I plan on getting it either way. But right now I want this hyperflashing fixed. I just know it's not as simple as just plugging in a couple LED bulbs....this is a common problem specifically with changing out the boards on an already equipped factory projectors....

CBC I/O features - driver door ajar switch.

There are 4 of those. Disable them all.

As mentioned in the alpha thread, make sure you save a list of your settings. It is easy to change something you did not mean to. I took a screenshot of what I was working with so I could look back, there is a way to run full report I think, been a little while since I last worked in it. I found the setting I wanted, to change my fog lights, had been modified in a alpha software update so my setting did not look the same as what others had posted.

THANK YOU. I've been having this issue on mine for a while now. Nobody seemed to know a fix. I tried everything possible and I happened to see your possible fix. I went and tried it immediately and it worked!!!! I made an account just to thank you. Seriously man I can't thank you enough
