Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and have a question of whether the hypertech max energy or the superchips tuner provides better performance. I know the horsepower claims for the 4.7l v8 but I'm curious how the real world numbers come out. Anyone with any experience on the matter would be great. Thanks.

You need to go Superchips out of the 2 for best performance gains-HP and Torque, also I am getting great gas mileage on the MPG+ tune it provides. I went with the Cortex not flashpaq.-->just a few more options between the two. Amazon sells them the cheapest, copy the link and paste it on Autoanything and they will price beat. I got the normal 379 Cortex for 303 brand new and it comes with a 2yr or 100,000 mile warranty.

i have the flashpaq 3865 for mine. definitely a noticeable gain in power, personally i think i get better fuel mileage on the 91 tune vs the fuel saver tune. i average somewhere around 16, sometimes even hit 17. dont know if thats good or not haha.

Thanks for the help, the superchips website claims a lot more horsepower and fuel mileage gains, glad to hear it pays out.

Here are a couple pictures of how many miles from a full tank I have gotten from the better gas mileage tune from Superchips Cortex handheld tuner:

On the Diablosport MPG booster tune I was able to get 120 miles for the first quarter tank with several WOT passes on the highway. I still feel Superchips Cortex is the best over all for the 08+ 4.7's(big difference in power stock from the older 4.7's). If internal mods were in goal then DST or another allowing the custom tuning would be better. From what I felt and read through out all tuners-->Superchips 93 octane tune adds the most torque and horse power from a canned tune.

Month old but i'll bite. The hypertech seems to work better on my truck than the superchips. I have a HEMI and I tried the superchips but was not happy with it. Especially since you are supposed to detune when towing unless using the towing tune. That to me was just dumb since I bought it to use no sit around.
