Update today... My lemon Law lawsuit was sent to chrysler last tuesday. I get a call today from the new car salesman at the dealer who had been working with Chrysler on this. They offered me a new truck equal in MSRP to what I have. It sounded great at first as they wanted to know what color I wanted and what not.

Then I got to thinking. If I take this deal I owe my lawyer $2400 out of my pocket. Why should I have to shell out that on top of what I already spent on the truck to get it fixed. They wouldn't give me a 2014 either.

I can take the buyback give the lawyer his cut and still go buy a Longhorn and be money ahead for what they sell for now since the 2014's came out.

Why in the world couldn't they throw this at me 2 weeks ago!! BEFORE I hired a lawyer...

Dumb question here but wasn't it your choice to hire a lawyer? I'm assuming you can do the lemon law without using a lawyer?

Same thing with my wifes Fusion, people with NAV are complaining and can't find a complaint from people without NAV.

Unless they changed something since I had mine if you don't get nav you don't even get a touchscreen do you? Like you are either current technology wise with nav, or you are stuck in 1999 without nav, kind of hard for things to go wrong that way.

They changed! NAV is just added software to the 8.4A unit which makes it an 8.4AN. I'm just wondering if the NAV is too much for the system.

No matter what the 8.4a and an are still different. I was quoting the person above with the fusion.

I thought with Lemom Law buybacks you were paid what you purchased the vehicle for PLUS interest and potentially and legal fees.

Whatever they are offering you is probably just a quick resolution and the cheapest option for them. However, the longer you use your attorney the more s/he will cost -- unless they charged you $2400 for the case from start to finish.

I'm also in MN, what dealership are you using?

How many people know the law and how to deal with the situation as well as filling out the correct paperwork, etc.? If there was a way to use LegalZoom I'd probably give it a shot,... but most attornies are good at what they do. However, $2400 sounds a bit steep.

Mine has gone blank a few times and there has been no sound a few times. Always resolved with a restart. I do love my system though. Works perfect 97.5% of the time :)

This type of technology seems kind of bush league to me, not sure why car companies can't figure it out. Wife has had plenty of problems with her sync too. I am shocked apple hasn't designed something for cars yet.

When I was looking into using a attorney in Co last year for my 2011 ram $2400 was about average, however that did not include arbitration fees.

My Galaxy S3 constantly disconnects from bluetooth. A minor annoyance. My work iPhone 4S doesn't have this problem. So, not sure what to think.

Good luck with the lemon/buy back.

I bought it in Roseville, and serviced it Forest lake...If you're close to the cities you will know the dealerships.

As for lemon law.......My lawer will get 5% of my total out the door cost for my first truck. A lemon law claim in MN gets you a buy back. They give you total purchase price, tax, title and license, including any money you put down or got for trade in back. If I win Chrysler rights out a check to me and I have to give my lawer his 5% of that check.

The reason I am doing this is because chrysler stood on there dinks for way to long on a resolution. I sent countless emails to Chrysler, spent many hours at the dealer, and many calls trying to figure out how to get something done. I also left quite a few voice mails to the dealer I bought it from and could NOT get anyone to call me back. The worst is when you get an email back stating you will have a call back by this date and this time and you never get anything only to start over.

This royaly pissed me off! The worst is when the guy from chrysler finally called to ask why it's taken me so long to figure out if I wanted a new truck. I said I just got the damn call today its been all of 3 hours! The dealer never got back to him stating they had gotten ahold of me. They sat on the request for 2 weeks! If the dealer would have just called me with chryslers offer when they should, I would have taken the deal hands down! To late though as I hired a lawyer already.

I want my cash back because I am NOT shelling out any more money for a truck I can buy now for ALOT less!!! Hell I could buy a 2500 or Longhorn now for what I paid for mine.......

Chrysler has given me a HORRIBLE experience dealing with them and they're lucky I am still even thinking about buying another one. I just liked they truck so I gotta. And like I have said I just got the bad apple and it doesn't happen very often and can happen with Ford, GMC, Yota....whatever.

It was my choice because going in on my own, got me nothing. Read my previous reply above this one.......

No matter how many emails, calls, or screaming at the dealer it got me nothing but a "sorry for your problems", and thats if I could get ahold of anyone.

Ford is no better. I had to file numerous cases with Ford Customer Care and would rarely get calls back from them. Dealer had my truck for months. When I had enough and secured a lawyer Ford closed all my cases and refused to speak to me. Dealer service centers were instructed to contact Ford regarding my vehicle. It was months of owning/driving a p.o.s. with a bad transmission before my lemon case was arbitrated. Then they flat out lied during arbitration. A road test with the Ford rep and arbitrator made them look like fools. Not to mention the 1" thick file of service tickets I had with attempted repairs and them saying nothing was wrong. I guess feeling like I've been rear ended any time the truck would shift from 3rd to 1st was "normal" and was a loud bang any time it downshifted in to 4th at highway speeds. And me pulling 2 coils off the plugs and going for a drive for days on 4 cylinders (Ecoboost) with a scanner hooked up and not throwing any codes wasn't suspicious at all. Nevertheless they replaced the truck and covered my legal fees. The replacement wasn't much better.

So, you get the poop end of the stick no matter what manufacturer you go with. The best lemon experience I had was with Mercedes. No hassle, no questions, 3 repair attempts and they contacted me offering a new vehicle. Kind of blew me away. They came and picked me up in a S500 and had my vehicle towed to the dealer. Sat down, signed some paperwork that transferred my loan to the new vehicle and I left a happy person.

Hope it all works out for you OP. Don't back down and let your lawyer handle it from here on out.

UPDATE

Well my lawyer did his job! Chrysler is buying my truck back in full. They are only charging me $600 for usage fee's which I am fine with. They tried to get me at $1200 but the law states 10 cents per mile and no more than 5% of the total cost of the truck. Well I just rolled over 8000 miles so my lawyer put the kybosh on the $1200.

Just waiting for the check to pay my current loan off, then I get to go drop it off and start over.

Not sure what I am buying yet though. Might step down to a big horn ram, or go jump on a new Sierra. Probably another Ram though as I have a bug shield, Truxedo Tonnuetrax cover and weathertechs for my current ram. Wife told me I could buy a boat if I bought a cheaper truck. I think I can handle that as I need a bigger boat!

2013 Ford Fusion SE without the premium stereo still comes with a huge screen and no nav. I personally didn't want to get the touch screen but she wanted to get the sunroof which is apart of that bundle. So far we've had that car since June and nothing really (knock on wood) has gone wrong.

Glad to hear you are getting it resolved I don't know why its so hard for companies to do the right thing if there is proof that a person has a bum vehicle.

The problem is, anymore companies just expect you to take subpar service with a smile. I remember a day when things where made with quality and lasted. Now it's the same everywhere you go. Call you cable company with an issue, can take a week or more to fix it. I've bought stuff from retailers and been told I have to deal with the manufacturer to get something fixed or replaced. It's all about the run around and hoping you just give up and deal with it.

Building software for a large company, I can now see why things like this happen to a company as big as Dodge. I can't believe how much they're trying to rush our software at work and how much they're trying to cut corners. If you don't design and build a computer system the way it should be, it will fail, period.

Glad things are working out for you by friend. Hopefully this is the only time you have to battle though something this big.

Glad that's sorted and VERY surprised you'd buy another one. I'd move on to the GMC personally. Mated with the 6.2L if possible too. :naughty:
