I have everything the Laramie has and more. Example: All white no chrome

You do?
Auto 4wd
Heated steering wheel
automatic climate control
Automatic headlights
Cooled seats
Auto reverse side mirrors
Rear heated seats
Memory seats/settings driver 1&2
Ram head on front seat backs

I am not sure some of these may be options on sports just not as common since they are not standard.

I like the wood trim and chrome because I like chrome so that was a big deal to me in and out but I know many of you like the opposite so would not care.

All black interior is great IMO but I also like the Laramie brown interior too

When your spending that much. Just get a 2012 power wagon!!!!

Is it true you cannot get leather bucket seats in a power wagon? I would want one if I could but that is a really big deal to me and seems like a weird limitation of that model. Still no diesel for that price seems crazy too. Yes I know it is made to off road.

You can't get leather period in a PW. Not from the factory that is. (4th gens only!)

And......I wonder if that is changing with the Laramie options now. Not sure, so.......2010-2011 I know, no leather.

I have built probably 1,000 trucks online recently and keep coming back to the white monotone Laramie and white monotone Outdoorsman. It's not shown on the factory picture, but the Laramie also includes body color flares. I just don't care for the two tone trucks and I really like the blue, but in person it's really close to black and I don't want that... As I mentioned before, the only benefit for me on the Laramie is the all black interior. I don't really care if I have leather and it's easily added later. I know the Laramie has a bunch of other features on top of the Outdoorsman, but none are really required by me (Like a heated steering wheel and fancy dual climate controls). The additional amount financed will be around $2400, and $38 a month. But with the Laramie, there's a lot of work to get it to the way I want. This includes a color matched grill, trading the chrome tow mirrors for black, and painting/covering the wood grain. This could end up costing me an additional $500 and with the Outdoorsman, this is all done, for free. So I have to ask, is the Laramie worth an extra $3000?

With that said, I don't want to have to go through this drill again in a couple years because I didn't just buy what I wanted. An extra $3k now could save me a lot of money down the road trying to trade trucks again...

I thought I would touch on some of these in relation to the 2500 model and my needs/wants.

You do?
Auto 4wd (Same system on all 2500 4wd except PW)
Heated steering wheel (Don't need in Oklahoma)
automatic climate control (Don't need)
Automatic headlights (Standard on all Rams, maybe not ST)
Cooled seats (Not available without center console which I don't want again)
Auto reverse side mirrors (Don't need)
Rear heated seats (Don't need. Rear passengers don't make the truck payment, they can bring an extra blanket)
Memory seats/settings driver 1&2 (Don't need, I'm the only driver 98% of the time.)
Ram head on front seat backs (Don't need)

I am not sure some of these may be options on sports just not as common since they are not standard.

It's worth it IMO. I'll be getting(maybe) a Laramie 2500 just for all the options then I'll color match everything. But I'll also get the CTD

A Laramie fully loaded with all the goodies below comes to a sticker price of $47,895. I should be able to get close to $8k off sticker bringing to down around $40k. My down payment will basically just offset my negative equity, so amount financed is still about $40k.

Leather-Trimmed 40 / 20 / 40 Bench Seat
17-Inch x 8.0-Inch Aluminum Wheels
5.7-Liter V8 HEMI® VVT Engine
6-Speed Automatic 66RFE Transmission
Media Center 430N SAT/CD/DVD/Mp3/HDD/NAV (Which will be sold)
LT265/70R17E OWL On/Off-Road Tires
Monotone Paint
Remote Start System
Pwr Chrome Heat T-Tow Mirrors w/Puddle&Signal Lamps
Roof-Mounted Clearance Lamps
Spray in Bedliner
Power Sunroof
4.10 Rear Axle Ratio
Limited-Slip Differential Rear Axle
Heavy Duty Snow Plow Prep Package (Adds transfer case skid plate and bigger alternator)
Protection Group

Resale and trade in will be higher with Laramie but as you said you don't really care about the extras it provides. Extras don't count for much within each trim so by that I mean get a Laramie and don't add to it options and that will be worth more than an Outdoorsman with each option added later. In your case I would get the one where you have to do less changes as that makes the most sense. Since you want to change things with chrome and wood grain you would basically be making it a non Laramie for the next owner who if wanted a Laramie likes that stuff and would not buy anyway.
Good luck it is always a tough choice but it seems to me you should get Outdoorsman.

I have no need for a CTD. I've done the math and it's cheaper to run a Hemi, even though I get worse gas mileage while towing. And I really like the responsiveness of the Hemi compared to the CTD. Really the main reason for trading is to get into a 4wd, and it's not a whole lot more for the 2500 than 1500. Since I don't drive the truck near as much as I used to since getting a company car, I don't mind the lower gas mileage.
