So as right now I am waiting for my new engine to come in after my original engine unfortunately have Blown a hole in it have it got it done this weekend but the people at my job site decide to damage my new engine. Anyway the question is I was searching online and I was watching a couple of YouTube video and one of the YouTube video mentioned to in order to build oil pressure you press down the gas pedal and Turn the engine that's a good way to build oil pressure I could do the other way but if that feature applied to all four Gen or basically any ram truck I just want to know if that's true

Yea, it's called "clear flood mode".

When you hold the accelerator pedal to the floor, the PCM stops the injectors and the spark plugs. As long as you hold the pedal to the floor, it'll just crank and won't start.

Just make sure you stop cranking FIRST, then release the pedal.

OK thank you for explaining because they didn't explain it very well so I wasn't sure this feature actually work on my truck or it depends I don't know this will be my first time replacing the engine

This "Clear Flood" function is present, almost exclusively on domestic vehicles. Every Asian vehicle I've tried it on started and zoomed up it's RPMs. I do not know if the European cars have it.

After my truck sits for a few days, especially during the colder winter months, I periodically use the 'clear flood mode'.

I believe this process helps with cold starts by improving lubrication on more engine surfaces before ignition. And the added oil pressure during a cold start will be more beneficial than not.

With my '21 Warlock (also a 4th gen), I press the brake and floor the accelerator pedal, tap the start button, and let it crank for 3-5 seconds, then release the accelerator.
The truck usually starts very quickly and quietly.

Just make sure you stop cranking FIRST, then release the pedal.

I'm curious about this statement. What's that all about?

I don't really have this option, because AFAIK, once I tap the start button, the engine will continue to crank for a period of time.

I could likely release the brake pedal to stop the cranking, but my logic was to use the engine's momentum and add the ignition. Saving the added effort for the battery and starting system.

I've been successfully using the same process for 2 or 3 years, but open to learning anything to improve the process.

That was gonna be my reply too.

You are not gonna build any oil pressure ever if you have a hole in your block. Or was that the prior motor (or “he”)?
Well of I was referring when I get the new engine I saw a couple video of how people build oil pressure on ram truck I seen one where you can hold down the gas pedal and build pressure doing that way I was just wonder is it a specific generation or all vehicle can do it Because I'm currently in the process of taking out my old motor and put the new one in with the high flow oil pump in it and if I could do that without I think taking out the spark plug or something like that will be better I don't know why that guy's talking about or he's just looking for someone to mess with But that was the question
