I spent a long day on this, and I'm not done

I had lots of swirls and a few scratches. I'm stuck on scratches though. Some just wouldn't budge using CG36 and the yellow buffing pad on my porter cable. I have a DD, but didn't want to get too crazy. Maybe I'll have to. Anyway, this is after 6 hrs of buffing.

I'm open to idea on the scratches. They don't catch on a finger nail, so they aren't deep.

Thanks. It was in rough shape. I might post some of the before shots. I was appalled I let it get that bad.

Great job, but the Chemical Guys is probably not abrasive enough to get the scratches you mentioned. I have had good luck with Meguiars G18016 Clear Coat Safe Rubbing Compound.

I use the orange (lightly) then on to blue and black pads. After the orange pad, I apply the Meguiars by hand on any scratches I see before continuing to the blue pad.

I have more than I care to admit of those little buggers. I did try some Meguiars dual action cleaner/polish. It had a cut rating of 6 on the Meguiars scale.

so- to all you guys using a ceramic coating, what is your pre-ceramic layer look like? I have a couple products I bought, including a black paint gloss enhancer. Can I put all that one, then the ceramic?
