I am looking to do a simple upgrade with tires. I am on 35x12.5 R20 tires now, ,with a 6" lift and want to eventually upgrade to 37's.

Do I need to upgrade to an 8" lift or can I just use spacers?

Right now, 37's will definitely rub when I turn.

You should be able to fit 37s now
If your rubbing on the control arms with 35x12.5 a 37x12.5 is going to rub in the same spot, it's a backspace problem not a lift problem
I've seen guys stuff 37 on stock wheels on bone stock 2500

yeah if you have a 2500/3500 you will have no issues with 37s. I got 37s with horrible rim backspacing on a 3in lift and I only rub a little.

It's a wheel offset and tire width issue. You can go with a narrower, taller tire and minimize the rub. If you want to go with the same, or a wider, width then spacers may help. I really like your wheels and I'd hate to have to change them out if they were mine but that's another option.
