eco diesel old / now Hemi missing the eco's mileage/ now back to enjoying diesel torqueesel
And then there's folks like me, give me some narrower tall tires, 235/85's tucked inside the wheel wells so they don't throw slop all over the side of the truck. Crew or Quad cab with a long box. Minimal frills but power windows, seats, but adaptive curise and surround view cams, full power tow mirrors, full rubber floor with rubber mats, and a split BENCH seat.

Just for fun, I got my 2500 with 6.4 Hemi crew cab 4x4 weighed with 30 gals gas and me @ cerified truck scale, 6,600 lbs.

Did that to understand travel trailer weight distribution.
My powerwagon weighed in around 7300. All the off road goodies must weigh a lot.

My regular cab 4X4 crosses the scales at just over 5300 lbs with the front diff in place, and just under 5200 with it and axles/driveshaft removed, the wifes 6.4 Challenger that has every available option you can get on a naturally aspirated Challenger crosses the scales at 4300 lbs,so it's closer to a 1,000lbs differance, even more if you buy a Challenger with fewer options like the sunroof/adaptive cruise etc..I forget what her old 5.7 R/T Challenger weighed but it would of been very close to what her 1320 weighed as both cars were similiarly equipped as far as options go.The wifes 1320 comes with 275 Nexen Drag Radials on all 4 corners, the wide body cars come with 305's.Stock the 5.7 Challenger was far quicker then the truck.Even with long tubes and tune on the truck,it still wasn't as fast as her old 5.7 Challenger was with just 6.4 manifolds and midpipes and no tune, and we raced them side by side alot at the track.

Is that sky blue car the 1320?

That car is plenty drool-worthy and makes me want to buy more lottery tickets.

No the B5 shaker hood was her old 2016.The only thing i missed off it on the 1320 was the shaker hood, but the shaker hood isn't an available option on the 1320's.
The blue one used to get comments from guys, but the plum crazy purple one got way more comments from women, after awhile i started to like it more then the blue one,as the girls liked the purple more then the blue :waytogo: :waytogo: :Big Laugh:

AWD would add more weight. Wider rear tires will solve the traction issue and add less weight. Even factory the Ram is better. The 5.7 cars come with 245 width tires that break loose all too easily.
It should not. Truck already has a transfer case.

Owned a scat pack with 245's and a 6 speed. You are correct. Insanely hard to launch. Throttle by wire kept me in check for the most part but also acted up at times. Truck will get off the line harder.

I have a '22 Charger R/T and even the lowly 5.7 requires finesse at launch to avoid excessive spin from the stock 245s. Of course the car is faster, I don't believe anybody is disputing that, but a 3.92 geared RCSB is going to put up a fight off the line. Grip and gearing do their part to offset the weight difference.

I'm gonna have to send my wife down to teach you guys how to launch your cars, lol. She had enough finese on the skinny pedal she never had any tire spin issues unless she was showing off, then she would roast them ;)

Come on! The snow just melted.
Biggest mistake i ever made was putting my girlfriend now wife in the drivers seat of my old Camaro at the track 39 years ago, she's been racing everything we've owned since, lol. She could cut better 60fts in her Challengers then i could, when her 1320 was on 17" drag radials i could match her 60fts,but put it on street tires and not a chance in hell could i match her 60fts,the girl has the ability to hit that sweet spot on the pedal  ;)

Tires and surface prep make a huge difference.

I believe 5.1 0-60 is as good as you can get from a R/T in stock trim. That's the best any of the car mags could get out of it too. New wheels and tires are on the mod list for summer. I believe about 285 is as wide as you can go out back without running into fitment problems or needing fender flares. Of course if I went to a prepped track instead of just on the streets I could probably shave a tenth off it too.

305's fit easily on the back of the non wide body cars on a 10.5 or 11" rim. I never go by the cars timers, they're notoriously inaccurate especially on the street. The wife routinely pulled down 1.85/1.90 60 fts on street tires on her old car, with 245's,and i'm pretty sure she was pulling high 4's 0-60 with it on the street when i did check the cars timer.Take your car to the track and see what it runs, and don't give me any crap about it being to far,my local track is 155 miles away, lol
305/45's on 10.5" Hellcat rims on the back on her 1320.

My best was 4.9 in the scat pack. Rev limiter would kick in right at 60 in second gear. Hit or miss shifting into 3rd. To be fair, I suck but the car was fun. Auto does a way better job putting power down.

Know anyone that’s swapped a hellcat into a 5.7 awd charger? Would the ex-cop car handle that?

I would not hold my breath on the rest of the drive train surviving, especially the transfer case. Torque management is pretty brutal just with the stock 5.7L from my experience. You can't keep it floored until you're in 3rd. I suspect this is for longevity, but don't know that for a fact.

This guy is known as 1 of the premier Hellcat swappers,he's done more Hellcat swaps then pretty well anybody else, and has video's up of doing a complete Hellcat drivetrain into a 300 in a week-end. This is his 1100 horse AWD 300,which is basically a loaded up luxury Charger. I gotta quit watching his channel as he's giving me all sorts of bad ideas, lol

I just happen to have a 300,lol
