I own a 2006 Dodge Ram mega and am having some issues with the ignition lock cylinder. Randomly my key will not turn in the ignition at all. I have to wiggle the key and sometimes pound on the steering column before it lets me turn the key. Any idea of the problem?

Also anyone know or have an idea of the approximate cost if I have to replace the ignition lock cylinder? It is a chipped key and all so I would imagine I would need a new key as well. Thanks for any and all help.

My ignition lock cylinder has developed an issue with not turning the blower motor off sometimes. The lock cylinder turns and works just fine otherwise but if I don't pay attention and leave the fan switched on, the blower motor will still be running when I get out of the truck. I've killed one battery already this way, fortunately it was still under warranty.

my key comes out in any position lol if your having a problem with your key not turning it could be the key is worn down and having a new key cut at the dealer by using the VIN will give you a fresh key. while cutting off a worn key will duplicate the wear. With the fan running you may have the same problem as mine where the key can come out without being totally in the off position then its time to replace the whole assembly.
