Did you purchase the truck new?
It was 2yrs old from dealer so maybe the original owner ordered it but I cant imagine anyone specifying that they want those to be illuminated. Who knows ....

I also have the underhood light-maybe it was part of a package-a very small package (illuminated door lights including mirrors and underhood light) I always assumed that they all had those especially the newer ones as mine is 8yrs old now.

If your ok with soldering SMD LED'S you can illuminate it yourself. SMD5360 LED'S
Except the letters, arrows, and mirror picture are just painted onto the black plastic in the circled area on the non-lit switches. Z6rCvpD.jpg I wouldn’t even be surprised if the led lighting is already present underneath.

I do color changes on various truck and car lighting. And then some. These sm leds are very tricky to change. Need help? I can do these very well.

I checked my truck last night in my brightly lit garage and thought my switches didn't light up. I decided to check again the next night just before I was about to order a new switch. This time I left the garage lights off and lo and behold, all the switches on my panel lite up. Saved myself about $40.
