What is everyone's take on driving without front fender liners? Mine are destroyed from constantly being kicked back into the tire.

I know their primary purpose is to protect the engine bay from crap being kicked up from the road, but I wanna know, would you or wouldn't you drive without them.

With all the electronics and all the plugs, I would not drive without fender liners.

Besides protecting from road debris they also help keep a lot of water from spraying into the engine bay when driving on wet roads. I would recommend not running without them on modern trucks.

Had anyone seen liners that are more rigid than the flimsy oem ones?

Had the front ones replaced on my truck as they were damaged badly when I bought. ****** expensive for plastic crap, but I am told necessary if the truck is to outlast me!

I purchased some fiber ones off ebay to replace the plastic ones that I rubbed through with tires hitting on bumps after lowering my truck 4 inches in the front.

They are holding up well, but plastic was easier to install

Ive never had an issue with the fender liners on either of my 4th gen’s (roughly 300k combined miles on them). I will say, though, the ones on the half ton are definitely more flimsy than on the hd’s. Completely different design.

I would definitely put a set back on, even if they were oem ones.

My ‘26 half ton came with only a potion of the rear wheel wells covered (only the front and back…the top side is wide open). This makes absolutely no sense…almost p!s$es me off. Im gonna try to find a full plastic liner for it. DUMB!

I would definitely replace them. If you are in the North you don't want wet road grime, mud, and wintery salty slush up in your fenders & engine compartment, let alone your electronic components.

Why are they being kicked back into the tires?
Sounds like another issue that should be remedied....no?

Replace them , a heat gun can work to help permanently change the shape of the plastic liner.
A few Christmas tree fasteners and or zip ties can help to keep things in their proper position.
