Yeah, I learnt my lesson when it comes to underground parking! 6.4" is too low for this truck!

Fortunately, I wasn't going fast when I hit a ceiling pipe but it did damage the shark fin. Fortunately, the antenna didn't broke off and it is still working correctly.

I went to the dealership and they said they will try to put on a new antenna to redo the seal and maybe it won't need a body job after all. During my appointment, they phoned me and told me they weren't able to do the repair and get a proper seal so they recommended me to go to a body shop to fix the roof first then put on a new antenna.

In the meantime, it did a caulking job around the antenna to prevent water from creeping in. Also, if I get it repaired, well, caulking is easy to remove if needed. This is why I didn't not want to use glue or a weatherstrip adhesive.

Anyone use caulking to do that sort of repair before? How long the caulking job last?

My shark fin started leaking after 10 years on my Ram 1500. I pulled down the headliner, loosened it, added some 3M sealant caulk right around just the hole in the roof. Resecured it. Although it doesn't sit perfectly flush, it does not leak anymore at the carwash. However, I have drastically reduced my range on my garage door opener now. I still hope to find a low-profile shark fin as it will occasionally bump my garage door.
