I went and looked at the site you put up, I got to tell you way way over priced items. I think if you looked around you can do a hell of a better price on the radio Just saying

Thank you for the reply, I couldn’t agree more on the price, it is way over priced. If I were to buy a radio do I really need a wire harness to make it work?

Meh on the radio upgrade. All I want is a larger screen when backing a trailer, but I did it without cameras for 25+ years so I won’t be spending $2k on it.

I wouldn't go through them. I went from a uconnect 5.0 to a vp4n (8in with nav) and Grimm set me up with all the adapters and a hvac module. My swap was way under their price. With selling the OEM stuff my swap was closer to $500.

Give these guys a shout and they will point you in the right direction.

I believe there are a few 8.4s for sale in the classifieds section right now as well.

Hey there! I’m looking at replacing my small radio to the 8.4” infotainment setup. Has anyone ever used their products? It’s like $2k! Is it worth it?

here is what I am looking at:
https://www.infotainment.com/collec...4c-nav-uaq-retrofit-kit?variant=5161161424932

Costed me 1K back in 2017 for the 8.4AN upgrade. 500$ for the radio through eBay and 500$ through infotainment for the bezel and waiting harnesses etc. Don’t go through infotainment for anything else but the bezel and harnesses, they’re massively overpriced.

What a lot of people don't realize is this whole upgrade and conversion harness was invented here by the members of this forum and copied and then sold for a huge profit by outside vendors The heated vented seat heated wheel harness, 8.4 conversion harness, push button start harness, cargo cam harness and ATC harness justvto name a few were all figured out by us. Many retailers(I won't mention any names) are very misleading in the way they advertise there product saying that the radio is programmed to your vin ect and it's completely false. They take advantage of uniformed buyers. I too highly recommend using Mike @M2mods for any harnesses you may need plus the Alfa tool for any codes that need to be enabled in the BCM. It's far superior to the Infotainment Genie at a third of the price.

You can save a lot of money buying the parts individually yourself. The hardest part is fining the radio, but with some work you can save a lot of money vs. infotainment.

Hi all, I have a question. I have one of the Infotainment radio 8.4 RA4 upgrades in my 2014 RAM Limited, I didn't spend the money to have it done, it was done by the previous owner. Yesterday after putting a new battery in the truck the radio reset itself. Now I have no backup camera and I no longer see the Sirius XM button on my screen although regular radio seems to work fine. Anyone else ever run into this and how did you resolve it? Is there a way to reset the radio to get all the options back? Like I said, I didn't do this upgrade and everything was working perfectly until I replaced the battery. I imagine removing the battery for 5 minutes allowed the radio to do some sort of reset.

Quick update, just went out to my truck to move it off the street at work, now everything is back to the way it was. Weird for sure at least to me, I'm sure it has something to do with the CANBUS resetting however I am old school and all this new technology is Greek to me. Panic just took place when everything suddenly looked different and didn't work as expected.

Forget Infotaiment. Sourcing a radio might be a bit of challenge, but harnesses can be had as others pointed out from here. Going to 8.4 from any other lesser radio is not PnP, but doable as an DIY project as long as you're comfortable fooling around with minor electrical mods and follow the precautions when doing it, i.e. electrical hazards, disconnect battery, so on and so forth.

Like I said, it was already completed before I got the truck, I didn't pay to have it done. I would never pay what they (Infotainment) wants to do a radio upgrade. My truck is a 2014 Limited so I am unsure how much more the previous owner ended up with after the upgrade besides a wallet roughly $1600-$2000 lighter. Thank God I didn't have to mess with it and it worked itself out by just giving it time.

Got it. I was replying to the OP, but should have quoted for clarity.

It is normal for the Radio to take several key cycles to read the trucks BCM after the battery is disconnected. Certain options will gradually come back as the radio reads the BCM until it's back to normal.

A new uaq radio from mopar is like 1400.of course they are on backorder.but i think infotainment has been getting them from mopar so they have to wait like everyone else.i would go with a new one because since the pandemic or just demand a new replacment screen is like 400 at the cheapest.so it not even worth getting a used one if the screen is bad which from a salvage yard is like a 97% chance with the Panasonic radios.if you don't use carplay I would go with a ra4 especially if you have a 17 or under.
