Alright, I hope I got this right on the new threads: First off, don't pay a shop for this cleaning. Unnecessary IMHO, total ripoff. Drop some cleaner in your gas tank at 1/4 full (we can start talking about how may oz you put per gallon, not the purpose of this post) PEA=High Carbon Removal in layman's terms. I use Red Line, just because I have been using a lot of different Red Line products in the last 10 years and have created high mileage trucks and have had no mechanical issues related to said products. Someone give me some wood to knock on! :893karatesmiley-thu As for what's below, all of this is really based off a basic internet search and is most likely complete ******** and there will be many experts here that will prove that.

Lets hear it, what do you have to say in your experience/knowledge?

Best Overall Options per the Bull****Net: PEA Concentration by Weight - Chevron and Lucas are competitively priced, RP a little more and RL the highest priced, generally speaking. It's just a few bucks difference and for the interval, pocket change lost in the couch. Please note: None of this is 100% precise without a shadow of a doubt!

Chevron Techron High Mileage concentrate: 10% to 30%. Benchmark: 22.5%
Lucas Oil Deep Clean fuel treatment: 10% to 30%. Benchmark: 5% to 10%
Royal Purple max clean: Undisclosed - Independent testing results !0% to 30%+. Benchmark: 10% + other detergents
Red Line 60103 SI-1: 30%-50%. Benchmark 31%

Just as PEA concentration in the product matters, so does % of PEA in the tank. With redline si-1 it needs to be 1 bottle per tank at a minimum. "In theory" you can use multiple bottles of other cleaners to match the % in si-1, but that is a crap shoot. The unknown is the other products in the product and how they help the PEA stay stable and get to the surface to clean it. You can see that 6 bottles of Techron still doesn't match 2 bottles of si-1 as far as cleaning. Our results on testing show combustion chamber results, but we don't really have the data on injector cleaning. We know it cleans from white paper and one boro, but we are unsure on if % matters in the same way as it does with combustion chamber. My theory perhaps one bottle per tank for 3 tanks of oci's before your next oil change, or do ricks method. That dose is just for injectors, rough combustion chambers maybe double that dose for 2 oci's. See video all 4 injectors and how one bottle worked on that engine.

si-1 thread.

Watch the 2:40 second mark and see how si-1 clean injectors as well.

I use Techron religiously in my boat…. but long storage killed the yamaha injectors.
A marine mechanic I trust has said his best experience is with “VP-Racing” injector cleaner. None other will he use.

(Rest of the story: Yamaha wants $180 ea for the 4 injectors my F150 outboard uses. I was strongly warned NOT to use the Amazon counterfeits.
I bought 4 counterfeits anyway…for $40 total.
They work perfectly and solved the problem with a poorly-running engine.

I bought a spare cheap-set to have on-hand…. and decided not to pay $40 EACH they charge to have the OEMs cleaned. The ONLY difference I can tell with the cheap-injectors…are the O-ring/Sealing-ring is not the same…so I borrowed the OEM O-rings, putting them on the cheap imitations. No problems.)

Thanks for that, great info. I watched the second video as well. Seems you may need to be scoping to really determine how many oci's you should go thru. But one is better than none! I'm definitely going to do two which I have not done previously. After that second video I was randomly pushed to the next, talking about Liqui Moly Jectron. I'm gonna have to check that out when I have time. Otherwise, I'll keep going to my Go To product, RedLine.

Here's the round 2 of redline video.
