The cap for my charger in the back of my truck broke off. How hard is it to remove the "bezel" and replace it with the new part?

Your probably better off just selling the truck and buy a new one than replacing one of those caps...lol

If this is on the back of the center console, it comes apart fairly easy.

I am pretty sure I have to pry it out of there. I'm just wondering how hard it is, I don't want to break any plastic around it.

Pop one side out use a flat screwdriver to kinda hold the tab in place and use a second flat to pry the other side it takes some force but it does come out. I used the back side of my aux plug for my amp remote power on and it works great.

I tried to see if I could find a video on it, but came up with nothing.

Im not sure if you have to pull the whole thing out to replace the part, but if you have the tools it might be the best way:

How to completely remove the whole power outlet:

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Pull the cigar lighter knob and element (1) out of the cigar lighter receptacle base (6), or unsnap the protective cap from the power outlet receptacle base (6).

^ my note: not sure what is broken on yours but if its just the outer cover portion this makes it seem like you can just pop off the old one and install the new
  3. Look inside the cigar lighter or power outlet receptacle base and note the position of the rectangular retaining bosses (3) of the mount that secures the receptacle base to the panel (4).
  4. Insert a pair of external snap ring pliers (5) into the cigar lighter or power outlet receptacle base and engage the tips of the pliers with the retaining bosses of the mount.
  5. Squeeze the pliers to disengage the mount retaining bosses from the receptacle base and, using a gentle rocking motion, pull the pliers and the receptacle base out of the mount.
  6. Pull the receptacle base away from the instrument panel far enough to access the instrument panel wire harness connector (2).
  7. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector (2) from the cigar lighter or power outlet receptacle base (6).
  8. Remove the cigar lighter or power outlet mount from the instrument panel.

it is the outer portion of it, the cap, and the plastic retaining ring it is attached to. Basically it broke at the hinge, so the cap came off, but the retaining ring, or "bezel". as I call it, is still attached to the outlet.

Got it. Took a look at pics of your part and it looks like you do need to take the whole thing out to replace it. I think the receptacle "base" it refers to is the part you need to replace

The instructions I gave are right from the service manual, so they should work. Forgot to add the pic:
