Oddly enough, the batteries installed are the Mopar 2019 date and still rockin well. Been waiting for them to die, as i want to install the Odyssey Extreme. but i do, charge them up once every 3 months and do well to not discharge them much
As you I kept waiting for them to fail then one day they did, no prior slow cranking, just click and dead. Lets see how the 2nd round goes. I am curious about these funky fiber battery guards. Rodents seemed to like them so I did not replace. Didn't see the need to spend $, it would be nice to know what RAM was thinking with these guards.

The fibre guard serves two roles, and that was Mopar's reason for installing them. It insulates the battery from engine heat, and in the event of catastrophic failure contains the acid and battery parts. Lots of guys run without them, but personally, I always have one on my pickups.
