Hi, guys - I'm relatively new here and this MAY be old information, but I have not seen it anywhere. It's sort of stupid, but it sure makes things simple!

I changed the oil the other day and went to set my oil life information back to 100%. For some reason, the menu wasn't allowing me to do it as the manual says it should. I stopped in at the dealer and talked to a tech that has been working for Dodge and Ram for over 25 years. He told me this... which worked like a CHARM, to reset the oil life gauge...

Put the key in the "Run" position with the engine off. Press the accelerator pedal three times. The gauge resets.

Sorry if this is old info for you guys.

Same steps also reset a GM's oil life monitor, and probably a whole bunch other manufacture'rs oil life monitors, lol. Not sure why guys have issues doing the reset,as the steps are pretty universal.

Yep, the steps are not hard. I reset mine via the UI one time and the next time I changed the oil, it would not reset that way. I have no explanation why. UIs can be that way. It will probably work fine next time...

Just do the throttle reset,it always works and is the easiest/fastest way to reset the oil life monitor, and works on the majority of vehicles, not just FCA products, lol. It's been a fairly common way of resetting it for a long time now. I didn't realize guys didn't know that trick,i just figured most would have it figured out by now,as it's been an industry standard for over 20 years.
