I just towed a '93 GMC AWD Van down from Yosemite (lots of ups besides the downs) with my truck. The Van weighed about 5,000# plus the extra-long car trailer and my truck had zero problems. It did use plenty of RPM's and the 8-speed was in Trailer Mode. Never showed much heat although it isn't summer yet, temps moving between 190's and 210's all the time. I never felt like it was struggling although it was obvious a load was on it (3 people inside too). I've driven pickups since the 1950's and never had a nicer one, love this truck.
