I had something strange happen to me this weekend and after researching it a while cannot figure out what it could be. The first time it happened was when I depressed the accelerator pedal to pass a car, I didn't depress enough to downshift but the truck accelerated and then the engine light came on and the truck started shuddering, I lifted off the pedal and every thing was fine, the truck stopped shuddering and the light went off. It happened again a couple hours later, almost same scenario. Then it happened again on Monday. It doesn't seem to happen when driving around town and only occasionally on the highway. I took it a couple places to have it scanned and there are no codes. After the first time I put my dash display on oil pressure and it never dipped, temp wasn't high, everything was good, even when the light came on the second time, oil level is good, I've run a new tank of gas through it.

Its almost like its not getting out of ECO mode and the cylinders are activating but not getting gas. Any ideas?

If it matters, I had Bilsteins installed Friday, no new tires yet, just the level.

Kinda sounds like what happened on mine a few times then I started getting the gear ratio errors for the transmission.

How did you resolve it? I have figured out it only happens at freeway speeds 60-70 mph. I can drive around all day in town and not have it happen at all.

Mine only happened at slow speed. I never resolved it. When I dropped in my new motor I picked up a low mile pull out and swapped it with the motor.

If it's a six speed auto trans, keep it in 5th and see how it does at highway speeds. That should keep MDS from activating and rule it out.
