My 2021 2500 Cummins 4X4 tailgate camera is not workiing sometimes, just a black screen. It'***** or miss, sometimes on, sometimes not. I've checked the wiring harnesses inside the tailgate, no issues there. Any other suggestions as to where to look? Thanks in Advance!!

Count your blessings, I'd disable mine if I could but nanny says no. I did, however, put electrical tape over the lens so I have a black screen all the time. :naughty:

Why would you ever want to disable something so useful? Especially when hooking up a trailer, the backup/zoom in is invaluable...

I use my mirrors when backing. I find it irritating, especially at night, when I'm trying to watch my mirrors and the dang screen pops on and blinds me. I've been trailering for so many years I can usually get the ball close enough the first try where just an inch shove will put the hitch over it. At first I was putting a piece of paper over the screen, but that was a PITA because I had to remove it to use my radio. Then I came up with the electrical tape thing. The screen still comes on, but it's black so I can't see anything.

And I don't have any kind of a Zoom function. I've also disabled the lines on the screen, so if the tape falls off at least all there is is a simple view.
