Is the serpentine belt near the transmission?

I just had the transmission computer replaced, and all seems good in that regard. But now I hear a faint rattle when the truck is moving (not when stationary) that reminds me of the sound the serpentine belt made a long time ago while going out.

I am a 70 year old lady that’s put all 221k miles on this truck, but lack mechanical know how. Before I ask the transmission shop to take a look at it, I thought I would ask more handy users what you think it could be. Thanks!!

Welcome to the Ram Forum!! All serpentine belts are in front of the engine, sounds like your noise is rotational meaning coming from one of the front wheel's probable drivers' side or drive shaft ujoint it being a 2wheel drive, transmission computer is called the PCM.

Have you checked your blinker fluid, maybe it's getting a little low?
No, the serpentine belt isn't near your transmission, it's the belt on the front of your engine that runs all the accessories to your motor.

It really depends on where you are hearing the rattle, how loud and does it get worse the faster you go, or on rougher ground. The fact it started right after the transmission work means I would go back to the transmission shop, get them to hear and locate the rattle and get them to check if they left something loose.

The other option is, if you have a good trustworthy independent shop you deal with, I would go there and take them for a ride so they can hear the rattle. They can likely locate the cause from there.

My advice would be to go back to the transmission shop first.

They didn't have the 6.1 Hemi in 03, 6.1 Hemi came out in 05.
Maybe I misunderstood you?
No, just blind. I know when the 6.1 came out smh.....plus it was never factory installed in trucks. Go back up and look at the thumbnail I posted. She has in her description 2003, 6.1 2wd.

So rather then helping out a 70 year old lady were all going to go grammar polizie on her for a single typo?

She got help....notably not from you. I was simply curious (hence my statement) because I thought it would be rather cool for some 70 yr old lady to be hotrodding around in a 6.1 powered 3rd gen. Pray tell, oh liberal one; where was there any sort of criticism or mention of a typo? I regret to inform you that your educational system has failed you terribly with regards to reading comprehension.

You can keep your pearl necklace if that's what you're into.....not my thing. No judgement though. Enjoy ;)
Perhaps we can let the thread get back on topic unless you have anything else of overwhelming brilliance to contribute....?
