I Had a 5.7 blow at 140k. I've read that the spring or spring seat has an issue that causes it to blow the engine, I now have holes on each side of the block. Supposedly replacements and 2006 models have been fixed, but dodge won't recall any existing ones.
But the guy who is selling me a rebuild engine says that's not a real thing. I'm not so worried as the replaced parts will should solve the design issue. But I would like to know, is this real? if I had replaced them before 80k miles would my engine not have blown (assuming its not a different reason).
