Is there a reason to NOT leave OBD MX+ installed permanently?

Just curious if it can stay plugged in, or if it should be removed when not actively using it.
The reason for the question is that I intend to upgrade to a Tesla style screen, and was hoping to use output from the OBD mx+ as a widget on the screen.

Other than it'll be an additional load on your battery it shouldn't be an issue. OBD port doesn't turn off with the ignition.

The OBDLink MX+ goes into a low power mode when the vehicle is off.

I've left it in, including the bypass module. Even forgot to remove it when I went to dealer.

As @crash68 mentioned above, it has 'BatterySaver' mode, sleeps after 2 hours.
It's on by default.
