Inventory on the 2018 V6 Ram in my area is running thin. Been thinking about a truck for years, but my practical side has stuck with my 5 year old sedan. Not sure why I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but as they say, it’s time to sh*t or get off the pot. I have a great deal lined up on a 2018 Big Horn. Still hesitating...but why? Go for it?

Your hesitating because payments suck. Either way as fine an engine as the Pentastar is, do yourself a favor, test drive the hemi. Difference is night and day Ang the mpg difference isn't all that much.

Thanks for the reply about the Hemi. Payments do suck, but believe it or not, I still have a payment on my 2013. Sucks, but I decided to buy out my lease on it and extend the term which was dumb. Payments will be about $75 more if I do this deal. The sedan just doesn’t really fit our family of 4 anymore.

so buy the truck? Go back and think of every time you said " man, wish I had a truck " over the last 5 years. I bet you said it a few times :p

I picked up my 2015 1500 with a Pentastar about 2 years ago with 21k on the clock.. So far love it :) The V6 is also about 3000$ cheaper ! ANd even though the Hemi is a great motor the extra cost and the Hemi was not what I wanted! No regrets! :) BUT the HEMI will blow away the Pentastar in performance :O But I drive grandpa mode so I do not care lol . As mentioned MPG is not much 2/3 mpg difference ! The choice is also what you will use the truck for ! Hauling a Big Trailer or Big boat or mainly using it like a car . I use mine like a car ! It breaks down to $$$, What can you swing and be in your $$$$ safety zone ! You do not want to be truck poor :O And I mean by having to choose between eating or making the payment :) Also a 1/2 y/o used RAM with warranty is also a good option for some ! Advice giving from a from a old fart lol

Well, if your going to pull the trigger now is the time to do it. Deals are running rampant! 2017 leftovers are out there and the 19's are starting to hit the lots. I'd even look at dealers outside of your local area and pit them against each other. Especially now that we are closing in on the end of the month. That's when they'll sweeten their deals just to make their quotas. I'd second the idea of eyeing a HEMI for the right deal.

Do it. You can't keep looking back and saying you wished you had buy a truck for another 5 years.

Of course, this assumes you'd use it as a truck from time to time. If not, then why buy something with a wide open trunk? :D

Would be mainly a family hauler for me. Trips, household stuff, camping, etc. No towing in the near future.

I have to agree with the folks who are telling you to go for it. Otherwise, if you wait, you'll be forced to make a deal without the obvious advantage of a discontinued body style. And has been suggested, the inventory is shrinking so, if you're going to do it, then do it and don't look back.

Have you considered the difference between--NEED and WANT?

Just what do you actually need vs what sounds nice is what hes saying. Do you need the truck or does it just sound like a cool idea. If you do need it, well then pull the trigger already!

I wouldn’t say I NEED it. It would just come in waaaay more handy for daily life than my 4 door sedan which we’re busting out of. I couldn’t even get my mower in for service with the sedan. Lol.

That is also one of the reasons I got my RAM, I can haul more stuff when needed and the 4x4 when needed, BUT I also WANTED it and I am Divorced so no wife saying I do not need it lol
