Got my CB antenna mounted...I don't claim to know a whole lot about these things. So I'm hoping the way I mounted it works. Gonna wait for my neighbor to get home, he has a CB in his trail rig and we are going to test it.

The signal bounces off of metallic surfaces, the higher the better and it will favor the direction it might be offset
You could mount it low in the bed and get ok signal without it sticking up all that high

How you have it now might work ok for what your using it for I just don't know how far down the trail it'll go

I'll see how it works and go from there...i might go get a spring and stick it straight up so I don't have to worry about ripping it off

Get a big whip and mount it on the front bumper then when not using it grab the tip and hook it to the rear bumper .

Switched the antenna up...we'll see how this does. It worked the way it was, but he was having a hard time hearing me. I adjusted everything and it didn't help. I heard him great... so we'll see

I also got a new fan clutch in...hope this helps in keep it cool. I may be switching to an electric fan soon tho

Thanks man...she is coming along!

Got the rear end welded today and one rock rail one...then some guys showed up so we went wheeling. No good pics of my Jeep, but the welded rear made a HUGE difference. I did end up hitting a tree tho...leaving the trail, going down hill (muddy). Made a rookie mistake and didn't use my gears to slow me down the hill, I locked up the brakes...lost all steering and slid down the hill, smoked a tree lol Dented the bumper in a little, but no real damaged...I hit it hard to. I'll have pics of it in the day light (just got back)

Awesome build going there. Not many Comanche's around.

I have an 87' with 4.0. Sadly for me, its a 4X2 :( . I just bought a 4X4 Cheekee, I'm gona make my Jeep truck into a 4X4.

I'm going a bit different direction then you though. Looks like your going Hard Core off-road ability. :)

Here is mine...

Anyway, I look forward to seeing many more pictures of your build.
