Jeep Build

So I went trail riding with some buddies and got HOOKED! So I've decided to build me one. Wont be anything to crazy, but its gonna perform.

I'm picking up a Jeep Comanche this sunday. It has Dana 40 axels, 3:73 gears, 33s, coil over suspesion up front. Its in good shape. Picked it up cheap.

My plan for the build (may take awhile)

External Cage
4 link rear end
Hydraulic Steering
Fuel Cell
Winch front and rear
Remove bed
Gears
Stongers suspension comp. (trac bar, control arms)
On board air

I don't know a lot about Jeeps so I'm looking forward to learning and building this. Jeeps are a pretty awesome platform to start with.

This should be awesome! I would really like to buy a cheap truck/jeep/something to use as a off road vehicle but I can't make my mind up on what and I don't think I can afford to mod two vehicles at the same time, lol.

This is going to be awesome! I went rock crawling a couple years ago with my brother in New Mexico, and it was a blast. I'd love to make a trail rig someday.

Haven't decided on a color yet...maybe black or white to match my truck.

I'll be cutting the fenders Sunday night. And trust me, if I hadn't got such a good deal on this I couldn't afford it either. It helps having Dave and being able to do the work my self

The kid with the Cherokee on 40s and the cj7 both have 5 or 6 jeeps each (one has a duramax and the other has a cummins as well)

^ this and the orange renegade belong to the one on 40s, the red CJ belongs to the kid with the CJ on 35s

These are two of his project willys



The other three jeeps in the first pictre would be bigger but they have school loans instead haha

I went and looked at her today again. I was mis-informed. The front axel is a Dana 30 and the rear is a Dana 35. The front has upgraded axel shafts.

It comes with extra set of seats and doors.

I got to looking at the front axel. They kinda ****** me on the control arms. With the lift they did they didn't go with longer control arms, they just dropped the control arm mounts. So there is a lower point on the front that is week and can hit.

So my plan is before my trip at the end of October is to make a long arm kit for the front, and make a set of half doors (like the wranglers) with the second set of doors. Thats the plan anyway.

I gotta redo the brakes on it, but I knew that already.
