Ok, I give up. What did unbroken do that proved his stock brakes inadequate?

And he had a this little supercharger thing, but again that's unbroken. He wanted to be the best..

And in a lot of ways, he was. I don't want to do exactly what he did though, just something similar. I'd like to see if I could get similar performance on a lot of things for less money, hence why this thread is here.

Just because he liked to spend money I guess but it happens on every forum.
And now he's gone, just like every forum. LOL

The guy was the first to do a lot of things, and he had one of the cleanest trucks out there. He spent a lot of money, sure, but that wasn't the only thing that went into that truck.
Unbroken had the Rotora brakes.
Lol I know.
Dubstep did you ever see Unbrokens R/T?
Not in person. I've seen a bunch of the pics and talked to him a bunch about it

I spent 2 hours inspecting every inch of that truck while he was living down the street from me...

There hasn't been, nor is it likely there will be, a Ram that would equal Unbroken's. There was so much detail inside and out that it would take an entire magazine (not just an article) to cover the awesomeness of that thing.

I would bet that around $75 in aftermarket was put into that truck (not including the purchase price of the truck itself ofcourse).

It was/is magnificent and I am a complete idiot for not buying it. :banghead:

Then after I had seen every part of the truck, he demoed the audio system!!! Holy ****, I had never heard anything like it. He won some awards for that system, too.

That's where I want to do things differently. I want to focus a little more on performance and a little less on style touches like the interior and audio.

Driving in more than a straight line through terrain that requires multiple high speed braking applications. He built his truck just like I've built mine, with aggressive road driving in mind, not just a 1/4 mile demon.

He did a bit of canyon carving and road racing type stuff.

Exactly, being able to take corners at speed and control something the size of our trucks is a hard thing to do, and he did it right, well, he paid a lot of people to do it right with the help of a lot of sponsorships.

The 4-link wasn't that impressive IMHO, he also wasn't the first one to design a system like that for the Ram, he was just the one that published the most about his build for people to look at. I'm not knocking the vehicle he built, it was immaculate and has become a trend setter, but it's not the holy grail of trucks, there are some of us who are making more power and can handle the same, if not better in a larger and heavier truck.

Absolutely, I wasn't planning on doing anything special with the audio and interior, but I started poking around at the audio and now I am HOOKED!!! :roflsquared:

I'll never do it, but aggressive road/curves in a RCSB is something that I often think about. But, I have a Perfmance Pac Mustang, and 3 really good handling motorcycles. I have the curves covered.

These trucks have pretty good suspensions, out of the box. I know there's a lot of room for improvement. But still, for casual curve driving, I'll bet it would do pretty well.

I still think you'd have to be skilled, and aggressive to over work the stock brakes. It if that's what you're into, I say go for it!

Yea, I hear ya. I'll probably end up spending a few grand and just replace the speakers and add a sub. I've already got the dynamat, just need to install it lol.

As someone that owned a road race mustang, I can tell you, heavy vehicles and road racing means you need HUGE brakes. The more weight you're moving, the more brake you need.

My mustang weighed over 1500lbs less than my truck, had bigger brakes, and I still overheated them on one occasion.

A friend of mine has done it with 06+, I think, SRT kit. He has rebuild everything, that can be rebuild in this connection on his 2012 R/T. But the result is awesome. At the high speeds...

It was done a bit less than two years ago and cost him totally around 2800 USD. As I remember, the used kit itself was smth like 1400 USD.

So definitely still cheaper to get the SSBC kit, though, I'm sure shipping it out your way was probably pretty expensive.

That's not too terrible. ****, that's a grand less than just the front Rotora kit.

Yes, but the SSBC doesn't fit under SRT-10 wheels.
