Looking to run a JL stealth box under the back seat of my quad cab and I've decided to go with two 10" TW3s because of the limited space under the back seat. Does anyone have any experience with the TW3 subs? If so could you give some feedback? Thanks

By the way I'm just getting into the car audio game and i don't really know what amp I will run. I listen to almost every type of music (excluding screamo) if that would be a deciding factor in the amp.

I just installed the single 10 JL stealthbox in my quad cab this past weekend. I used a rockford fosgate 5 channel amp, and powered up all 4 doors too.

I love how no one actually gave him an answer. While I cannot speak to the TW1. s, let's figure out what you are looking at.

JL's dual sub set up offers the TW1s, while the single offers the W3. Unless there is something out there not listed on the website, I assume you are looking at the TW1s. I have no first hand experience with these, but I am very interested in this stealth box. I know it is the only box out there that retains your folding floor. Based on research, it still does push the floor up a little but so it doesn't sit perfectly level when out.

Your amplifier choice should be based on the sub-woofer selection, not on type of music. Subwoofer and box choice should be made more on budget, restraints, and type of music. In your situation your pretty much stuck with a sealed box, which typically plays all music well.

What is your budget for the whole thing (box, subwoofers, wiring, amplifier)? Are you installing your self? Do you mind losing your folding floor, or raising your rear seats a little bit?

I have the single w3 stealthbox with the JL XD 700 5 channel amp and I really like it. It provides plenty of base and I never even have the bass knob turned all the way up

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Adrian I had a audio shop quote me the stealth box with 2 10" TW3s at $1500 installed. I'm not sure if he said the amp was 500w or 700w. I was looking at the Slash series amps from JL but i may go with less expensive model if that quality of an amp is not needed for this setup. Later on i was planning to add their calibration module (can't remember the name) because I'm wanting to stick with the Stock radio.

Im going to raise the seat the extra 5/8 inch using washers when I go home this weekend.

That would be a very nice setup with the TW3s and a Slash amp but I think I would do the XD series. The reason here is really the cash, the XD 1000.1 is something like $550 and the Slash 1200.1 is $1200. I'm not a huge fan of the JX amps as the one I played around with just seem not to have much grunt there when I wanted it.

That really isn't TOO bad of a price if they are an authorized JL dealer. Still unsure about the TW3 thing though. The TW1 box is 600 watts and retail for $1000. A 4 gauge kit is about $100. A LOC is about $20, and labor shouldn't be more than $150. The XD600 is $430 right now. So retail it would be about $1,700.

A lot of guys here will tell you that you can do better for the money but at the end of the day it is up to you. This set up would be simple and sound good.

What amp would you recommend besides a JL?

Well I just know you get what you pay for now a days and once i put the system in i doubt I will ever take it out so I was just looking for something that would last. They are an authorized dealer though.

Budget wise a PPI 1000.1 would be good choice, NVX amps have been proving themselves, JBL MS5001 if you can still find one. If you end up going higher end, Arc audio 1100.1, Mosconi One 1000.1 or Mosconi 300.2 if you want a monster amp. Also pretty much anything in Alpines PDX lines have been great since their newer versions came out.

I'm looking to probably go with two 10s in my crew cab as well. I like the JL Audio stealth box, but way over priced. You can buy both subs that go in that box around $300 a pair. So your paying mostly for the box. I've looked at Fox Acoustics boxes, they look clean, but unsure of quality. What boxes do you guys recommend?

Well the TW1s are about $200 each and NetAudio box is about $500. I would say the set up is very fairly priced. The Comparable fox box is cheaper but molded, needs be caulked, and needs the seat raised. You also lose your fold out floor and cup holders. While the JL box just drops right in and you keep your fold out floor.

Thanks for the amp recommendations Etroze.

I think when you look at the box on JLs website it comes with 2 TW1s thats why it is close to $1000 i think. I may be mistaken though.

Personally net audio and basically any sub you want that meets air space is what I'd go with if you are spending that kind of money.
