Thinking of upgrading the audio system in my truck. Currently its got the standard alpine system which comes stock.

I can't decide if I want to go with 2 10's (w6) or one 12 (w7). Also if I would be able to fit these subs underneath the seat with a custom enclosure.

Anyone thats running this setup? Pics? :favorites13:

Audio guy where I live has a loot of praise for the JL stealth box. He said the value of the custom tuned box make all the difference. I have one.

I'm putting a 12W6V3 in a netaudio tall box under my rear passenger seat. You could easily get two of the 12s or 10s in there as well with their full length tall box.

I'm thinking of getting a setup like this with 2 10W6v3.

That's a good setup with that, I have 2 10W6 subs in my 2013 Dodge Ram, bass worx makes a great box with just the right air space needed for them. And that's what I have in my truck along with 2 JL Audio Amps and 4 JL Audio 6x9 speakers, and running a pioneer 8000NEX head unit

W7 will not fit the magnet is to big and also needs more air space, use W6 or W3 there the best bet

Even with the tall boxes is there enough for the pole vent on a 12W6v3? Those suckers are deep!!!!! I just my curiosity and I know some of you have this setup going but food for thought not enough pole venting will end up with scorched voice coils on a $600 sub.

There's enough room, I've had mine in and out of the tall NetAudio box several times when I was installing them to check for clearance and there's just over 1/2" between the bottom of the enclosure and the sub.

To me that's not enough room, as I know you have a great understanding of audio but an average guy/gal that has these in place and is trying to get max spl out of them 1/2" isn't enough cause they will exceed xmax and they will need more than the 1/2" minimum recommendation by JL, but I digress cause I'm sure the v3 is built just as well as the v2 I had and I beat the living hell out of that thing.

That's great to hear since both pieces are on their way to me. :)

I emailed back and forth with Paul at Net Audio and I'm positive he would have mentioned it if the 12W6 would not work well in the box I ordered.

I bet that sounds pretty sweet. Do you have any pics or videos of your setup?

Also where did you guys buy your subs? What kinda amp should I use for two 10's. Any of guys use a capacitor?

Caps are a waste of money.

i couldnt agree anymore! they do what they are suppose to under big bass hits, but they also put resistance in line and take power away from the amps. a 2nd battery is the best option.

Beef up electrical then, caps aren't worth the time unless you have a very specific purpose for them. Also if you are getting dimming on less than 1500w rms after doing a big three you have other issues like a bad ground as our alts are pretty stout.

what do you mean by big three? (stupid question probably)
