am i missing something? this is what i bought and installed.

i have the 7 speed blower by the way.

brand new 8.4n out of a 2016 1500
single climate bezel
911 error plug
getupkid extended conversion harness
hvac module

Was there something else i was supposed to buy? im seeing something about a resistor but thought that was only for the people with a 4 spd blower. I was also assured by more than one person i had everything i needed. did i need to unplug something or what?

heres a quick time lapse video i took of the install with my new 4k gopro.

Ohm out that harness from getupkid. Bet it's that.

Edit: Pull the center stack off and try pushing in or applying up and down pressure on the plug to see if you can get a flicker. If you plug in your old bezel again and it's good then it has to be that harness.

is that a possibility even? i didnt have to mess with anything else under the glove box other than just mount the module and plug into it right?

Check my edit on first post. From my understanding these guys make them by hand. Highly possible one of the wires could be bad.

You can prob figure it out. Could be something easy like a pin not seated all the way or not crimped tight. Easy as getting out a multimeter.

yeah i guess i could check for continuity but i have to check every pin that will be a pain in the ass. if the harness is fine is it possible the bezel is junk?

Unhook the small plug from the back of the bezel and give it power. If it's there, could be the bezel I suppose. Where you get it from?

checked continuity throughout the entire harness, all checked out. contacted the seller i got the bezel from on ebay (factoryradioparts) and he assured me that they only sell parts out of known working condition. so it must be the module, assuming the guy was being honest about the bezel

Having continuity throughout the harness does not mean it is wired correctly. Check for correct wire pin out against the schematic diagram available in the DYI thread.

right and this is the voltage readings per pin on the little black plug that goes into the back of the bezel.

these readings were done with the truck running.

1. 2.4v
2. 13.7v
3. 14.3v
4. 0v
5. 2.6v
6. not used
7. not used
8. not used

does this seem right?

the check engine light went away, i just went out and started it up because i was thinking, if the module was bad then the AC wouldn't work through the headunit settings either. so im pretty convinced its the controls on the bezel that are bad.

yes. the only bummer is there is no way to control the volume from the screen so i cant hea any music until i get this resolved. so i guess that leads us to the actualy controls on the bezel being bad. im about to hit the junkyards down by the border tomorrow and find some.
