I know I should have asked this before I bought the truck but... So I was wondering why they charge extra for a "Hemi 5.7" and the "8HP70"? Also for the "Anti-spin differential rear axle"? I understand about the chrome package, clear coat etc.. Is it that I had to pay for an upgrade to have a Hemi?
Also I'm trying to understand the "6030.00" difference between the BASE price and the TOTAL price.

If I'm not mistaken, the 5.7L Hemi engine is considered an upgrade from the base 3.6L which is FCA's flagship engine, hence the charge...

Base engine is a 6 cylinder, base transmission is a 6 speed. So yes, they charge more for the Hemi and for the 8 speed transmission. The price difference is the base price plus the price of the option packages.

Wasn't aware you could get a 3:21 anti-spin rear.
The option doesn't list a different ratio from the std.eqpmt.

So, if CAD & SitKneelBend are right,
The 2019 Ram 6 cylinder comes with the 6 Speed ?

I would have thought that it would come with the ZF HP45, or is that a 6 speed?
I thought that it was a light duty 8 speed
I can't keep up.

Everyone else is correct, if you go to the Ram Builder on their website adding the Hemi and the 8spd it tells you how much it is to add them.

As for the $6030 price difference, add up all the items on the right side with prices next to them and don’t forget to add the $1695 “Destination Charge” at the bottom. It all adds up to the $6,030 you are asking about. It’s all the extra features and delivery costs of the truck over the MSRP price.

Base transmission is an 8-speed across the board. It's just a different 8spd for the V6. You can get the anti-spin with any gear ratio, but you can't get the 3.55 with the Hemi, only the 3.21 or 3.92. The V6 comes with the 3.21 or 3.55, but not the 3.92. There's also an option for the electric locker vs the anti-spin on some models.

3.6L only has the 8 speed paired with it since launch in the Rams.

My 2010 has 3:55s with a Hemi, wonder why they dropped that combo.

I believe the only way to get the 3:55s with a Hemi now is with a Rebel.

I just looked at the online builder site and I'm not sure you can even do that now....

Base price vs as equipped. Not too hard to comprehend I think.

That went away with the 8spd. RFE got 3.55 or 3.92.

My '18 has 3.21 and LSD rear.

When they introduced the Hemi/8 speed combo in MY 13,you could get it with 3.55's,but by the time the 14's came out,the Hemi/8speed combo was no longer offered with the 3.55's. Personally i think they flucked up as i think they should of kept the 3.55's with the Hemi/8 speed, not like they didn't already have the 3.55's in the parts bin anyways.

My 2016 EcoDiesel came with 3:55s

I tried to order it with 3:21s

Then they told me Ecodiesels can not be ordered with
3:21s
Sport Bumpers
in the color that i wanted
& a few other things

I still don't have 3:21s :(

That would have given the Ram outstanding MPG

Same set up in my '09. I think they dropped it because of the different ratios they run with the 8 spd vs the 5/6spd of the 09-12 Rams. As I recall, even some of the 13s had the 6spd, but the 3.6 has always had the 8spd.

The Gen5 DT body, 3rd Gen EcoDiesel can be ordered with 3.21 gearing. The 3rd Gen engines higher torque rating at a lower rpm and lower first gear of the 8HP75 probably is what makes this an available option.
