Happy New Year to all of my Ram Bros! First off, just want to state how thankful I am for this forum and all of the members. I bought my 2012 Ram 1500 Limited August of 2012 and since joining this forum, I have been able to get the best bang for my buck when it comes to upgrades due to the plethora of information I have found on this forum. With that being said, I just ordered a new Vararam Air Grabber from Moe's. Other upgrades include, 2.5" Daystar Leveling Kit, 3" PA Body Lift, BT Catch Can, Bully Dog Hemi+, Moto Metal 20x10 wrapped in 35x12.5x20 Nitto Trail Grapplers. I also plan on obtaining a Moe's 85 MM TB in the near future. I just recently started running AMS Oil in 'Ole Blu'. I am thinking of replacing the plugs with the NGK that are mentioned several times throughout the forum. With my current setup I am running 14.5-15 MPG running down the interstate and around 13-13.5 in town. The bully dog really increased my MPG by about 2-2.5 MPG. The unfortunate thing, I work in the oilfield and travel a lot. My truck, 'Ole Blu' is my work truck as I am on a vehicle allowance. Since purchasing my truck with 15 miles, I turned over 59,277 miles after returning from a trip to Lafayette, LA yesterday. So... any of you guys have suggestions/comments on what to do next after the Vararam and 85 MM TB?

What do you do in the oilfield?Im a captain on an OSV.
Did you let Matt know that you will have the 3" body lift as you will have to get a taller coupling for the vararam to seal to the hood. You still running the stock exhaust? If so a muffler will help with the wow factor.

I am a Coiled Tubing Engineer...

I just emailed Matt @ Moe's and let him know that I have a 3" BL. Is the taller coupling extra $...

I forgot about my 18" Mufflex that I also have installed. Also, I ordered a Magnaflow Y pipe, but when I asked the muffler shop to put it on, the guy said he didn't want to because he was afraid of getting that close to the converters and he said that the Y pipe makes no difference at all. I plan on making a trip to a different muffler shop to see what they say.

Check it over really good when you get it! Mine arrived, box looked good- centre plastic part has crack from one side half way to other side! Not Matt's fault, don't think they pack them with enough peanuts and the damn thing can shift around when the truckers throw the boxes around!

I would have gladly gave away some of the pacing peanuts mine had... It took 3 13 gallon garbage bags to get rid of them!

You shoud have told him if he was scared to go actually get the welder and let him do it lol.The Y pipe won't be somthing you feel by itself but it will help out with everything else you have overall. No the coupling is no extra he will just put the taller 1 in the box instead.I agree about the packing peanuts,As i had the damn things everywhere lol.

Fedex! We try and not us UPS here in Canada- they charge the shipper first, then when package arrives in Canada they charge the reciever again! If it's $40 shipping they end up charging the reciever another $40! Good deal - eh!

Do you know that FedEx and UPS are about to merge their companys. The merged company's name will be FedUp hahahaa!

Seriously, I can't stand UPS, anytime we get something shipped from the US up here in Canada, they always end up charging us freakin duty fees... Funny how it's not the case with FedEx.

Quick question... rather than unplugging my battery for 2 hours to 'reset', since I have the Bullydog, can't I select 'Reset Adaptives' after installing the Vararam and it does the same thing?

You don't have to unplug the battery for a full 2 hours. 30 minutes is plenty, or you can also unplug the negative, and just touch that terminal to the positive side for a few seconds as well. This is faster, but can create a little spark show if you are not careful. Leaving the negative off for 30 minutes is safer.

Resetting your adaptives on your BD just ousts your BD back to manufacture settings.

What happens if I don't disconnect the battery after swapping the intake? I hate redoing all the stereo settings.

You just may not feel as much of a gain initially as the computer will take time to adjust to the increased airflow.
